Great material and quality with a sub-par fit

I am 5'10 and about 160lbs. I normally wear a medium in shirts but with this being 100% cotton, I went with a large as I do for all other cotton T-shirts. The length of the shirt is great as well as the fitment around the neck, but it is just too loose and boxy for my liking. The sleeves are not form fitting at all and stick straight out. Maybe this is the style they were going for, however it does not work for me.

Yep, it’s a t-shirt…

Arc'teryx is a preferred brand of mine, a mental bias that caused me to try quite hard to like this shirt. In the end though, it’s a fairly basic t-shirt for a very not-basic pricetag. I actually ended up testing two identical shirts, with pros and cons consistent for both. On the list of pros, the cotton is very soft and supple, if a bit too silky-feeling for my taste. There’s also plenty of room to move around in this shirt; restricted range of motion is never going to be an issue here! Unfortunately, that leads straight to the cons: First, this shirt is HUGE. I generally live between a medium and large size, preferring my shirts slightly fitted. I was swimming in the large of this model, with heaps of extra material underneath the arms. Second, that nice thick cotton also means this shirt is fairly warm and does not breath much. Finally, the initial inky black color faded somewhat over a few weeks of washings, and the fabric attracts lint like a magnet. Neutrals- The “dynamically placed shoulder seams” were not much displaced from any other t-shirt’s; I would have trouble imagining this shirt being specifically better under pack straps. Not having seams meeting directly under the armpits makes for an interesting design, but creates a “point” behind the shoulders where they do meet. Finally, this shirt is much longer than my personal preference. It is a reasonable length to tuck under a climbing harness, but you’ll be left with a fair amount of fabric hanging loose right around your equipment loops. Bottom line- it’s not a bad garment, but definitely did not meet my expectations for this brand, or based on the price point.

Supima Supreme!

The Arc'teryx Kragg SL cotton t-shirt is comprised of nearly everything I've come to expect from the brand over many years and a variety of their clothing and gear. Made from 100% Supima cotton - the Kragg SL is comfy and, of course, buttery soft. It also is assembled via continuous-seam construction - making for a very durable, but especially non-irritating layer. Worn around town under a puffy and out for a hike over a light long-sleeve shirt the Arc'teryx Kragg SL proved a light, comfortable and breathable companion. Fit, however, is on the big side. It's a regular, rather than athletic or tight, fit, but honestly seems to be sized half to one full size larger than its label. Sizing being a bit generous was the only real issue found while putting this Kragg SL through its paces.

The Enchanted Arc'teryx T-Shirt

If garments had personalities, this heavyweight t-shirt would undoubtedly be the wise, comforting, and reliable companion that every wardrobe dreams of. Picture this: you slip it on, and the world around you seems to grow quiet for a moment, as if the t-shirt itself carries the weight of ancient wisdom and quiet power of the Archaeopteryx emblazoned on its breast. The fabric, dense yet soft, envelopes you like a warm embrace from a trusted friend. It's not just thick, it's substantial, almost like wearing the comforting weight of a soft, well-worn spellbook. The moment you put it on, you know it’s not just clothing, but armor for the soul, offering both protection from the mundane world and a sense of grounded, quiet strength. Its craftsmanship is like something spun from the finest magical fibers, with seams that are as sturdy as a knight’s shield, ensuring that this t-shirt won’t easily wear out. The stitching? Perfection. It’s as though a thousand tiny stitches, each placed with the precision of an elven artisan, work in harmony to ensure the fabric’s durability. You won’t find a loose thread here, just the promise of lasting quality and timeless style. And let's not forget the fit! It sits on the shoulders like the perfect mantle of a hero embarking on an epic quest. Whether you're in battle (aka, your daily routine at the office) or simply relaxing in the tranquil haven of your home, this t-shirt adapts to your movements, providing effortless freedom and comfort. The heavy weight doesn’t constrict - it moves with you, a perfect balance of strength and flexibility, like a cloak that flutters in the wind yet holds its form. The colors? Although it's the blackest of my black t-shirts, this one refuses to fade into obscurity, much like the brave and adventurous souls who wear it. It remains true no matter how many battles (or the two, so far, laundry cycles) it has faced. In short, this heavyweight t-shirt is more than just an item of clothing — it is now a cornerstone of my wardrobe, a companion on life’s journey, and a subtle reminder that comfort can indeed be both practical and magical. Whether you’re relaxing in your wizard’s tower or venturing into the city of the mundane, this t-shirt will ensure you do so in unparalleled comfort and style. 10/10 would wear again (and again, and again).

Comfy Shirt

This shirt is very comfortable and breathable. I’ve worn it both as an undershirt and stand alone. Feels smooth to the skin and nicely wicks away moisture. The shirt does run a bit big / long so consider that when choosing a size.

Fit is wrong

Great color. Material feels good. Terrible fit. Absolutely no comparison to my older Arc t shirt. Very baggy. Long sleeve. Super wide. Truely horrible fit. I cant understand why Acrteryx isnt fixing their fit after seeing so many feedback on it.
