Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".
PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.
TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Comfy long sleeve
Overall a comfortable longsleeve t shirt. I am not a huge fan of the thumbholes I guess, as I always feel like that part of the sleeve ends up wet when I am doing things outside or it gets in my way a bit. I felt the sleeves were a bit long. Otherwise, a pretty lose comfy shirt which would be great for hiking and camping (even those cooler summer nights in the moutnains). I did love the colour, and the neckline. The length of the shirt was also decent, it did not ride up when my arms were raised. I got a size medium that I usually wear and I feel that it was very roomy.

The Women's Sahara Shade Long-Sleeve T-Shirt is a mixed bag. First Impressions: I received the top in Mauve Shadow Heather, which is quite eye pleasing. The thumb holes are in exactly the right spot to provide coverage and not squeeze the thumb joint awkwardly. The neck line is weird, as it is wider than a standard crew neck. Perhaps the extra wide neck line is to provide sun coverage, but it looks very funny. The length is odd. If wearing as a casual shirt, it will barely tuck into pants, only to come untucked. If wearing as a performance (specifically hiking) shirt, it bunches up under the backpack beltline. (Please see attached pictures.) Performance: The shirt is good as a standalone. It does not breathe at all, and wearing it as a baselayer/under a coat quickly turns into a sweat fest. It does work better in cooler temperatures vs warmer temperatures. Washing: I washed it in cold water, with detergent formulated for delicates. It washed fine with no issues.
Great hiking shirt for the northwest climate
As an REI Trailblazer reviewer, I was given this in a XL, color Mauve Shadow Heather. The color is true to the picture on the website. The material is soft and has a nice stretch. I like the high neckline for keeping sun off my chest. Some folks may not like the length but I prefer a shorter length shirt because it fits my body type. I am short waisted and thick in the middle area. I took it out for a 5 mile hilly hike that started in the morning when it was a bit chilly. I wore a light vest over it for an hour and then took off the vest. The tempature rose to about 70 degrees. What I liked about the long sleeves was that I could push the sleeves up towards my elbows easily. Not all sleeves are like that. This is a selling feature for me in a shirt, if the sleeve at the wrist is stretching enough that I can push up the material. The fabric breathed very well. I was not uncomfortable as it got hotter and my sweat on the back of my shirt from the hills in the hike dried quickly. My only complaint is the lack of variety of colors. Other than that, I would highly recommend this shirts for hiking as well as casual wear. Some shirts now a days are so LONG that they are very unflattering. This shorter shirt to me is a winner.
Perfect Sun Shirt
I LOVE this sun shirt! It is the perfect length and the fabric is so soft and comfy. I really wanted to love the hoodie version of this shirt (the Sahara Shade Hoodie), but I have a shorter torso and I'm only 5'4", so I found the sun hoodie version was way too long on me and went way past my hips. But this shirt (the Sahara Long-Sleeve T-Shirt) is the perfect length and the sleeves are also the perfect length. The length hits right at my hips and the fit is very flattering. I don't find it boxy at all. I've already worn this on runs and I will definitely be wearing it hiking all the time. I wish it came in more colors!!
Great shirt for all weather
I enjoyed wearing this soft and cozy shirt from REI, I wore it on both a cooler day to help be stay warm and a warmer day to protect from the sun. The fabric helped with both days. I found it very comfortable, it fit well even though I normally wear medium and received a size small!! The sleeve length was just right and the thumb holes were not tight as some can be. The softness of the fabric will keep me going back to wear it again and again as it just feels nice, and also kept me cool and covered on the warmer day. I enjoyed wearing this shirt.
Neck hole very small
Love the purple color and the fit. I'm between a L and XL in tops and the L had a nice, just skimming the body but not tight fit. I very much wanted to keep it, but unfortunately the neckline is uncomfortably high, and I'm not usually so sensitive to things like that. I understand that it's better for coverage but I would have preferred a normal crewneck
New favorite soft shirt!
So comfortable and cute! I love this shirt and will most likely buy other colors. It's a great length for high-waisted pants both workout and casual. The fabric is so soft (cannot emphasize this enough) and easy to care for. I've had this for a few weeks and it's holding it's shape nicely, especially the neckline. It's a great piece for daily walks and hiking. I especially love how light the fabric is with the weather turning warmer.
Soft and Comfy
I am very short waisted but all arms and legs at a 5'8" person. I can wear either an XL or 1X depending on the brand and style. I bought the 1X because it fit a bit looser across the bust. The material is soft and much like the higher costing Vitori brand. The sleeves are wonderfully long. I don't find the top boxy at all. For my body type, I like the shorter length of the top. I hope REI comes out with more colors so I could have a 2nd one. Love the neck line and THANK YOU REI for redesigning the Sahara sleeves. The hooded version sleeves with a seamless down the upper arm was awful.
Super soft stylish Active tee
I used this t-shirt on two occasions: hiking and biking. I found that it really wicked away sweat, the length was perfect as it did not need to be tucked in and hit slightly below the natural waistline making it look stylish. The thumbholes offered extra warmth for my hands at the beginning of the hike and the sleeves could be pushed up once the temperature warmed up. The fabric is incredibly soft and the top washes up easily and dries out quick for multi-day wear.
Pretty Good
This shirt is super soft and very comfortable. I love the extra length of the sleeves and the thumb holes are great. The body of the shirt is slightly cropped so I cannot tuck it in, but it hangs nicely. I think it would be a great base layer since it doesn't appear to breathe well, but I haven't had the chance to wear it in the warm weather.
