Great Shoe with One Downside

The ASICS Novablast 5 are among the most comfortable running shoes I’ve ever worn, offering excellent cushioning and a smooth running experience. However, I bought a pair about 2 or 3 months ago for track and field as well as cross country, and used them heavily. Unfortunately, the durability is lacking, as the sole began to rip within just three months.

I have had multiple pairs Asics Novablasts. A few of the 3s and then the 4s and now just received the 5s. I’ve only done a few runs, but love them. Asics keeps moving in the right direction with each new generation. I find these to still have plenty of cushion, but to also be a little more supportive and seem to have a little more bounce and return than previous generations. This is a great all-around daily running shoe. Great for slow and easy miles but I just did a speed workout and it fit that bill as well. My son is a soon to be division one college distance runner and uses these as daily trainers for his easy runs.

It’s a cool looking and comfortable shoe; my gripe with the shoe just after 4 runs in the park so less than 15 miles there is a chip in the foam; at first I was thinking it was a chewing gum but I was wrong I’m super gentle on the shoes normally and I was unpleasantly surprised about its defect No more than 2 stars for the shoe

I always wear Asics and these are the worst I've ever had. I wasn't convinced when I bought them and should have purchased different ones. Here are the highlights: 1. The sole is squishy and doesn't provide enough support. It's like walking on a bosu half ball balance trainer. 2. These shoes are LOUD. When you're walking or running on pavement, the scraping noise of the soles on the asphalt can be heard a block away. It's hard to have a conversation when you're walking. 3. The shoelaces both broke after 4 months. 4. The sole of one shoe started separating after 6 months.

A "do everything" shoe. FF Blast Max midsole is more responsive with greater energy return than the previous version. Upper breathes much better, too. Can pick up the pace if need be. Great daily trainer.
