I have only done a short 3 mile hike with these, but so far, I am in love! I have been searching for a good hiking shoe for my high arch, wide feet, for two years. Usually I know after a mile if the shoes are going to cause hot spots/ plantars fasciitis pain, but I have never felt so comfortable this quickly with a new pair of hiking shoes. Been through several shoes/boots and this is the first time I have felt compelled to write a review so fast. The sneaker/hiking boot combo is exactly what I needed. I am also surprised at how breathable these are considering they are waterproof. Have not tested the waterproofing yet, but so far, I am impressed. Many more miles to go to get a full feel for these.
These are comfortable and lightweight, and were waterproof when I bought them two months ago. Unfortunately, they are beginning to delaminate and the sole is coming apart from the upper, so I don't know how much longer they're going to keep me dry through stream crossings.
Great hiking shoe, true to size. Extremely comfortable to wear. My girlfriend has no complains at all. Although the toe cap was damaged after the very first hike, she's still immensely pleased with the design and comfort it provides. I took off a star for the toe cap, but overall still an Excellent shoes!
These shoes were fine in the store and for shorter hikes but after a multi day hike my feet were cramped and I had a horrible blister. My previous Keens were wide towed and so much better. I will be returning to that style.
These boots are so comfortable. I loved them the moment I put them on the in the store, and they have continued to be comfortable throughout over thirty hikes this summer. These boots have done about 100 miles of hiking this summer since I bought them, and I still find them to be the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn while doing exercise. I even considered buying another pair just to have as an around the house shoe. The waterproofing stands up against getting wet. (Unless your dog shakes and sends water dripping down your leg into the boot, in which case, there's nothing to be done about that.) I love the color. I cannot speak highly enough of these shoes. When I bought them, I was warned that the tread on the boot has been said to not stand up as well traction wise to a boot with a Vibram sole, but I haven't had any issues with traction.
Light weight, comfortable, and stylish. The second hike i did included a lot of mud, my feet stayed warm and dry. So happy I invested in these boots!
I believe these fit Large for the indicated size. Thick socks and insoles= still room to spare. Look cheaply made- I expect they will come apart at the seam between sole and shoe in less than 60 days. Upper also gives the impression of Cheap/Poor Quality. Inside is smooth/slippery, not rough- this is good. Easy to sweat in these, even with socks of normal thickness (Admittedly, Central TX is generally quite humid). Very surprisingly, my herniated mid and low back do well after 45 minutes of walking on concrete in these shoes. Sadly, my feet were hurting after about half an hour! Bought insoles after the second outing and I am much happier overall! Laces do come loose very quickly, so I may replace these next. Have not tried in water (summer in Central TX tends to be dry), but walking my Kidz is not optional and I may add insight as Hurricane Season ramps up. I exercise regulary (bike/lift), tip the scales at about 165, and have a small/light frame. I do not encumber myself while walking my Kidz.
Don’t waste your money. Was looking for a lightweight hiking shoe, but the rubber sole is easily damaged after a 3 hikes. Thank goodness I bought them at REI.
I have other Keen boots that I really love. I got these on a really great sale, but it feels like a pretty cheap plastic and rigid boot. I’ve only worn them around the house, but I’m actually returning them.
Really nice looking boot but crammed my toes compared to their other models.
