Great for mountain biking
We had to size up for our toddler to a jr size. She loves the design and colors!
Great for warm climates!
This is a quality bike helmet for young riders. The materials were lightweight but durable. There is ample ventilation to get some cooling airflow going, and the small visor helps block some sun and push low branches out of the way before they hit your face. The dial on the back made for easy adjustments and good security. Ours came in a cheerful blue color. Seems like the youth sizes currently only include a youth small, which is quite small. I had initially gotten the youth helmet for my 8 year old, but it was too small for him. Fit my petite 6 year old.
Plush Comfort that Breathes Well for Kids
The Smith Wilder Jr Mips Bike Helmet provides plush comfort for your kids' biking adventures. Previous kids' helmets always caused my son to take his helmet off frequently at every stop to cool off or scratch his head. This helmet, on the other hand, breathes well in warmer climates. This helmet fits great and provides a good, comfortable fit while providing safety. I enjoy the peace of mind with the Mips additional safety protection for my son, who likes to ride fast. The helmet looks great on both boys and girls and is easy to adjust for the back and chinstrap. It is also easy for a kid to unbuckle the helmet, while others can be challenging. This was a big selling point since other kids' helmets can be more difficult to unbuckle quickly.
Cool Runnings!
The Smith Wilder Jr. helmet is my son's favorite helmet. We have used several of the competitors products and this one is the most comfortable and coolest according to both my son and daughter. It is fairly easy for my 8 year old to clip off and on. Some of the other clips are harder to use on our other helmets. The overall coolest part of the helmet (pun intended) is temperature regulation. This is the coolest helmet we have tried. The kids would always overheat in the blaring sun. With this helmet and all of its open space it makes it very cool to wear. I would highly recommend this helmet and even more so if you plan on using it mostly in the warmer months.
Amazing child helmet!
If you're looking for a high quality helmet for kids, this is it. It has features of a high quality adult helmet. It's best suited for younger children, so be sure to measure your kid's head. This helmet has fantastic ventilation. When it comes to round vs oval shape, I found it fit fairly neutral. I liked that you can adjust the vertical placement of the back retention band, which in conjunction with the dial, provided fantastic fit adjustment. Great helmet!
Very adjustable and comforatable
Our 6 year old loves this helmet. He is small for his age with his head measuring in the size chart range for the youth small. He loves the blue color and says it is cool and comfortable. We have been through 5 different kids helmets between our two boys and this is by far the best. Most kid's helmets lack the ability to adjust the temple straps. Without this adjustment some other helmets just don't seem to sit right on the kid's head. The Wilder Jr. provides the ability to adjust the length of the front and back temple straps. The ability to adjust these straps allows the depth of the chin strap to be adjusted, helping keep the chin strap from digging into the neck. There is also the ability to adjust the placement on the head easily by snapping the internal head cradle.
Stylish Helmet for Little Riders
I bought this helmet for my six year old little ripper. It is so cute and stylish on, and she says it’s more comfortable than her last helmet. The only downside is it fits her so perfectly that there isn’t much room for her to grow into. I wish I had bought this for her a year ago so it would last longer.
Great bike helmet!
Excellent quality and build. Lightweight and perfect fit.
Great kids design and will fit them for years
I have bought two of these helmets and the same size fits both my 4 and 7 year old. Lots of flexibility on head sizes so you won’t have to keep buying new helmets. The front of the helmet sticks out far enough to make sure kids have extra clearance should they fall on their face.
Excellent kids helmet
Excellent helmet for kids! Good amount of vents that also look cool, great color, comfortable and lightweight - all while providing great protection. Love the built-in visor that won’t come off or get lost, and the dial system to adjust the fit. I’d give it more stars if I could!
