I've already deployed it just to check the bag and everything functioned perfect! I also installed in my Dakine vest, and then removed and swapped into my Dakine Poacher RAS bag so I could see how that process was, and it wasn't too bad, took about 15 minutes and that's just because the airbag "clips" that hold it in the backpack are tight, but that's ideal since I don't want any chance of them being ripped out or removed if bag was deployed in a real avalanche. Love the versatility of the RAS because I can swap between vest and bag depending on the tour and how long it will be!

Great airbag!!! Easily swapped between packs!
I love the versatility of this bag being able to remove it and change packs to fit your environment is invaluable. Haven't deployed it during an actual avalanche situation and hope I never do. However I conducted a test deployment with the pack fully loaded and it performed well. Bag is easy to fold and pack and the installation is fairly simple. The attachment points are a bit tight when new but I'd prefer that over loose all day. Can't speak on the bags floating ability during an actual avalanche deployment but I will update this assuming the bag helps me survive

Compact and transferrable
Very easy to swap RAS 3.0 between different size packs. Color coordinated tabs make it easy to set up. Lightweight enough that i'm willing to carry it every day without noticing the added weight. Airbags are a piece of equipment that provide added peace of mind when traveling through avalanche terrain without interfering in mobility and efficiency. Works great in Dakine backpacks that are compatible with RAS 3.0 systems. Seamlessly swap between different sized packs for different adventures.

It definitely works
The airbag is well price and performs well. The only reason I give a lower score is because I've had 3 accidental discharges this season. They all happened by the handle being pulled by objects touching it. The last discharge triggered just with powder hitting the handle. This is a tough situation because you want it to be easily deployable for emergency situations, however it seem to be too sensitive leaving you without an airbag in the back country because of an accidental discharge.

Very solid airbag system
This is a reliable option for backcountry avy protection. I like how this is compatible with multiple bags; I have the Dakine Poacher RAS Vest, and the Dakine Poacher RAS 36L Backpack. Both awesome bags, and with the Mammut 3.0 airbag system they are even better. Note, you have to buy the air canister separately and have to fill it at a dive (I had the best luck here) or paintball shop - simple to do. It inflates quickly, seems well built, and gives me a little more peace of mind when touring. Obviously it isn't a substitute for good decision making, but it may increase your chances if the worst should happen. Flying with this does pose some challenges, but you can discharge it, fly to your location, and then get it filled locally pretty easily. I have recommended this to friends and will continue to do so.

So I haven't had to employ the avalanche bag in the field yet, but it's design seems very simple and reliable. The included training tool is great for getting an idea of what it should feel like when you do need to employ it, without the inconvenience of have to repack the bag or refilling the canister. Overall it's a great safety item for the Backcountry and even in-bounds. Just remember that this is more of a seatbelt than anything else and does not replace a beacon.

Awesome product!!!
Mammut provides quality products that can save and protect a skier/snowboarder at a moment’s notice. I have yet to use this product in any real time experience but I feel safe using it when it is readily available. I’m no expert yet in my sport but I am leaning and advancing my progress and this is a key feature that is needed for safety backcountry boarding. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to equip themselves with the safest and reliable equipment.

This is an awesome product and worked very well the couple times I have tested it. Unfortunately, I can't find many places near where I live in the mountains to fill the cartridge. It's also a bit hard to pack away after deploying. I probably won't be testing it once a season like they recommend, because of these issues. It works great! It makes me feel a bit safer. I don't believe it should replace caution on avy slopes.

Good bag, excellent versatility!
This gets a 10/10 for versatility but only a 7/10 for its use as a standalone airbag. Why a lower score? It's just a little old and bulky. Weight is a concern as well. If they would go ahead and let the US market use the carbon canisters, things would change fast but... Anyway, the versatility is great! I have a large and a small volume bag I can switch the system out with and I live the option.

Reliable and Easy To Use
I have had a fan activated bag, that was battery powered. However between charging / checking the battery and then being concerned about the battery in really cold conditions I went back to the Mammut RAS. I have two packs for it, one a small heli/slack country set-up, the other for hut trips or bigger objectives. It takes a bit to switch it out, but once installed the RAS is in there solid.
