Features
Full-grain leather uppers are strong and durable; they use leather that's been put through 6 different tests before Danner made their selection to ensure quality
GORE-TEX 100% waterproof and breathable liners are made using 30% recycled material; they ensure that no water gets in, while allowing sweat and moisture to get out
OrthoLite Eco open-cell polyurethane footbeds use a special formulation featuring bio-oil to provide lasting comfort
Vibram® SPE rubberized EVA midsoles maintain the same cushioning properties as traditional EVA, but they are more durable and won't break down as easily

This size chart is meant to be a guide only, as Danner styles are built from various lasts that fit each foot differently. Generally, most people size down a half to a full size when buying Danner boots as compared to their shoe size from other major footwear brands.
Buying Advice
How to Choose Hiking Boots
How long will you be on the trail?
Hiking shoes: day hikes or ultralight backpacking
Hiking boots: multi-day treks with heavier loads
What upper is right for you?
Leather: water- and abrasion-resistant, durable
Synthetic: lightweight, break in easily, dry faster
Look at the lugs
Deep, thick lugs improve grip
Wider lug spaces sheds mud and offer good traction
Check crampon compatibility Mountaineering and winter hiking may call for crampons. Narrow your search for boots with crampon compatibility.

I just started to do seasonal driver for UPS and I walk for 12 hours a day.....I am amazed at how comfortable these are. You do not notice at the start of the day, but at the end of the day your feet are happy and can go another 10 miles.

First pair of hiking boots I didn't like

Maybe these just need time to break in. But these feel very warm for any kind of warm weather hiking, they're not very comfortable, and they make my feet hurt after even a short hike.
I am 100% satisfied with these boots. Here is my take:
Sizing is the same as a dress shoe, 1/2 to 1 size smaller than tennis shoes.
Toe box is relatively large, toes do not hit when going down a steep hill.
No heel slip at all, no side slip when walking across a hill.
Has some ankle support, good enough for hiking.
Works with both thick hiking socks and regular socks due to good toe box and lacing nearly to the toe.
Comfortable from the start with Superfeet Green insoles, took less than 10 miles to break in fully.
Sole grip is the best I have ever experienced -- solid grip on loose dirt, wet rocks, packed snow, and ice.
Price is very reasonable for what you get.

Feel great right away and will last a long time.
Really happy with these boots. Had them for about a year and have used them in many conditions, Olympic, Zion, throughout Scotland, Nevada desert, Minnesota in winter, etc. They are very comfortable and relatively light for being full grain leather with a gore-tex lining. They perform excellent in wet conditions especially if they are treated with additional conditioner per Danner directions. Even if untreated they will perform well in wet but the leather may show signs of mineral deposits.
Most recent trip to Zion handled 50 miles over 2.5 days and conditions ranging from 16F - 78F leaving the my feet feeling as fresh as one could expect after that.
The Vibram gives them excellent grip in slippery conditions, They are a good all-around boot, highly durable now that Danner fixed the liner material, very comfortable.
If you aren't worried about covering significant miles at high speed (should seek a trail runner or light synthetic for that) these are great for long days on the feet in anything but hot conditions, though capable if needed.
The ability to resole is also nice. Vibram will breakdown over time and I am starting to see areas of slight wear. The uppers will certainly last longer than the soles.

A Highly Disappointing Boot
The Danner Mountain 600 boot is a reasonable well fitting boot in the wide size range with an adequate toe box and heel support. Unfortunately, the boot has a cheap feel and is constructed of mediocre material. The boot’s leather uppers have a decidedly synthetic character. The boot did not require any break in time, but with three months of regular, urban walking wear, has evidenced a clear degradation of structure and support - and loss of comfort. Sadly, this Danner boot seems unlikely to survive for a second season, a highly disappointing verdict for a once reliable brand. I would not recommend this product.

My favorite work boot
This are the best boots I hava ever had. I have been buying them for years now. I do landscaping and they the best ankle support, durable as heck, and look really nice...especially before I get them dirty!
I am sad to hear they are being discontinued. I will be buying a couple pairs to have in the future.

Great mid weight boot that is modern and classic.
I have circled around Danners for a while and finally gave them a shot after being let down by some other major brands. I loved these right away, they have the style of classic boots but the insole and midsole of more modern hikers. They were quick to break in and are a good on desert and mountain trails as well as some slick and salty muck on the streets of NYC. I haven't submerged them, but the waterproofing has been fine so far. I like the fact that they can be re-crafted and built to last. After a few months of wear, I hope to have found a winner!

Very Good Backpacking Boot
5-day October Yosemite backpack route included climbing Half Dome on the cables. Already had an old pair of U.S. made Danner boots from the 90's that are still bomber, but vibram soles became a little stiff over the decades. I wanted fresher more grippy vibram soles for good traction for the Half Dome climb. I remembered Danner used to have a good reputation for little or no break-in time and found that was still true for these asian-made Danner boots. I put about 50 backpack miles on these over very rocky trails in the Hoover Wilderness and Yosemite and found them very comfortable with no durability or delamination issues. Very good heel cushioning. Reasonably light weight. Easy to lace-up. Trails were dry, so I can't comment on the goretex qualities. These fit my men's size 13 just about right. Possibly a bit long, but not wide. Was glad to have a bit of extra toe box room for steep descents.

Great boot with minimal break in time.

These boots have minimal break in time and have removable foot liner. I inserted my orthopedic footbeds and they are perfect. Replaceable sole is a big plus, unlike my last Lowa boots which I had to throw away, once they were worn out.

excellent boots
I am extremely happy with this purchase. I had merrell hiking boots which were uncomfortable to say the least, but I used it for 3-4 years assuming my flat feet to be the cause of discomfort. I was wrong. I have used my Danner boots for one camping trip and a ski trip and these feel like feathers on feet. I would buy these again and again!!
