I thought I was upgrading (because the pearls weren’t available in my size) from the Pearl Boas, my holy grail of comfort and zero heel lift. With This pair of Ivy Boas I get a horrible hot spot on my lateral malleolus. I had to stop on day one of a 14 day snowboard trip. I tried different socks and will try moleskin tomorrow. Bummer bc now I’m going to have to rent. I used to Love Salomon snowboard boots. I’ve tried so many brands and they’ve always been the best for zero heel lift. 1 star because even the double boa seems defective. It could be user error, but all my previous double bowed boots, not the pearls, but my other double boa boots for my other family members tighteb at the toe and then tighten the upper. This pair seems defective. There’s no way to tighten the toe even with the internal strap. They’re just not working out. I’m hours away from the closest REI; I’m going to return them as soon as I get back in town.
