So comfortable!!

I love camping but my comfort level is somewhere between a firm surface and an air mattress. This air pad is the best of both worlds for me! It’s just enough above the ground to avoid the discomforts of the bare floor but not so airy that it’ll give you aches that a typical air mattress would give as it has in the past for me. I even found myself taking a nap when I first tested it out. Besides being comfortable, inflating and deflating is SO easy! The carrying case and hand pump are so handy especially if you find yourself without an electric pump. I highly recommend for the camping enthusiast. It’s also great to have as part of your emergency kit.

Comfortable, quality camping mat

The mat was well packaged. Instructions included were adequate. The mat is designed to self inflate. I highly Recommend testing the inflation before first use in field as instructions said to allow 1 hour for first self inflation; it seemed to take longer. I tested a few more times after this initial inflation, squeezing out the air and then letting it self-inflate and it took around 20 minutes to inflate each time. I pumped the hand pump about 10 times to get it just right. Slept on the mat one night camping and can say it was very comfortable and had good temperature insulation from the ground. Maintained inflation through the night. I have also been laying on it while listen to records and that’s been nice. The mat appears to be of really good quality. One potential concern for me would be the covers for inflation and deflation as I’d avoid pulling too hard on these or being rough with them. I’d again advise testing this before going out into the field with it to ensure that it self-inflates as It would not be a fun or a good ergonomic experience to have to rely solely on the hand pump to pump this mat up; the hand pump is intended just to dial in the final firmness. This mat is a substantial upgrade from the foam and older air mats I have been using for backpacking. Liked that I could sleep comfortably in different positions without discomfort. I don’t think it will be a great candidate for backpacking as it is kind of long and doesn’t really pack down any more than 30” in the carrying sack, nor is it super light at around 4.4 lbs. That said, it is very comfortable, Seems to be of good quality, and I would definitely recommend checking it out.

Great glamping pad!

So far I’ve used this pad in my Tacoma and while crashing at friend’s house and it’s a total dream. This pad is a really great car camping upgrade and I’m excited to get more use out of it this fall and winter because of how well-insulated it seems to be. I’m not very tall but I like a long mattress because it makes including my dog a bit easier and I like to have a lot of space when I’m not trying to go ultralight. What makes this pad special is how comfortable and quiet it is, I love that it sits pretty high off the ground (see photo with La Croix) and that the material doesn’t make a lot of noise if you’re shifting around at night. The inflation system is good; I like that there are two distinct valves for inflating and deflating. While I great prefer using the EXPED Widget electric pump to inflate (takes under a minute), it’s not too long of a wait for the pad to self-inflate before topping off with the manual inflater that it comes with. While I usually prefer a long pad, I will say it’s a bit of a squeeze to get the pad to fit perfectly in my Tacoma because of its extended length but with the tailgate shut but we made it work. Also in the negative column, like most larger and insulated sleeping pads, it’s a little fiddly when you’re trying to deflate and roll at the same time. I’ve only had this pad for a few weeks but it appears to be well constructed and made of durable materials.

Good addition for car camping, withstood kids

Very comfortable and thicker than the sleeping pad I previously owned. The foot pump that it comes with is very easy to use. The first fill it did not self inflate as much as the instructions said it should for the first time, which is not an issue except we kept coming back to it to check and give it more time and probably should have just used the foot pump to top it off at that point. Tolerated kids jumping on it very well with no noticeable deflation despite significant abuse. This will be a good addition to our car camping set up and I will plan to pick up a second one at some point.

A great winter pad with wonderful properties

The comfort of this is great. It's warm, cozy, thick, and wide. The real issue I have is that for a "long" it just isn't long enough. I'm 73" tall, and even the long just isn't enough. I can't get as comfortable as I want in a regular bed. (Yes, I know this isn't meant to be a bed). A minor nit: the thickness also means that when one falls off the pad, there's quite a drop to ground below. For a winter-ready pad, however, this sucker is great! It's not so big and bulky that it's cumbersome, but also light-weight enough you can pack on a backpack. I, personally, haven't figured out the optimal strategy to make it as small as possible, but it's not overly cumbersome for the warmth it provides. Finally, it comes with the a 2-valve system for inflating/deflating the pad. It also has a easy-to-use pump that easily squishes and shrinks as well.

Supportive, easy to use, great length.

Pros: Wide and long, I'm 5'5 and it was great. Using the extra hand pump included is super easy and fast. It's also very light, ideal if you are car camping but still need to walk with it a bit. The cushion was just the right amount. I have a lower back injury and this supported my spine very well. When deflating and storing it keeps the air out and stays snug, makes it easier to roll up and store away in the bag. Cons: Really just one: It does not inflate as quickly as advertised. I would recommend airing it out and letting it self inflate as much as possible for the first day, then fully inflate using the additional hand pump included. I let it stand fully inflated for a week before using, it seemed to work best doing so, and I had no further issues. I would recommend this product to friends.

Super comfy, well-insulated, great air mattress.

Incredible sleeping pad. Inflates quickly, has a unique inflating tool that is light and compact. Separate in/out ports are also robust. Fits my 6' frame with room to spare. Have used cheap air mattresses and nicer camping pads in the past and expected something like that... no. This pad is extremely comfortable - I actually look forward to sleeping on it. It is well insulated, used it in my car below freezing and had no issues. Not for long backpacking, too heavy for that. Perfect for car camping. It needs to be stored unrolled, that's the only downside. Packs up fine for travel.

Regular use after 5 yrs, and still good as new

I bought the Exped sleeping pad after freezing, tent camping in 29* temps on an R3 pad. This amazing R7 pad is a game-changer. I have camped regularly in winter and during the shoulder seasons in NV, UT, and AZ for the past 5 years. Not only am I warm, the pad is as comfy as our $1600 bed mattress. I sleep very well. I am one of those women who's always cold, even with wool socks and sweaters. This pad is still my favorite camping purchase. I've regularly used it since 2020. It was hard to pay that much for a pad, but it really is worth every penny. Being retired, we avoid crowds so tent camp in fall, winter and spring...even in snow and with wind storms.

Deep sleep almost ever night under the stars

What a wonderful sleeping pad. Very easy to use. Nice touch with an insert to help keep the tab open to ensure faster inflation. The pad is very comfortable to sleep on both back and sides in a tent or in a car. It is also very warm and a great insulation off the ground for those colder nights out. The Exped DeepSleep is one of the most comfortable pads I've camped on. Only downside is it's a bit big for backpacking but it's perfect for car camping. I was originally sent the wrong size (LW instead of MW) and was bummed to learn that the LW came with a pump but the MW didn't. But after camping for a week and having no issues in the field filling the mat up with air, it just took a little more time planning (set it up, keep valve fully open, then go on a hike or cook dinner) and it didn't take much effort to reach the firmness that I needed.

Comfy and warm

This pad is awesome. I’ve had other sleeping pads and bought this for a family member to join me with winter camping. The top feature of this pad is how comfortable it is. I’m going to buy a second one. It inflates fast and deflates quickly to. Easy to put away. Stuff sack has plenty of room so you don’t have to struggle with a tight rollup. This is a wide pad . Putting 2 of these in a two person tent will take up about all of your floor space. Measure your tent if you plan on doing this.
