Love these gloves!
They are incredibly warm, and it's nice to still have some dexterity. The only complaints I have are minor. They initially feel very odd between the mitten and pointer finger because the insulation is thick between the sections. The second is that, though it is possible to use the shell or just the liner, I never would. The separability seems a bit of an afterthought as the individual components feel a bit baggy, even though they fit snugly when worn together. I am a big fan of these gloves and would highly recommend them.
Excellent build and materials. Strange fit.
The build quality and materials are exceptional. The fit was strange though. The elastic in the wrist applied a strange pressure to my wrist that caused pain like it was restricting the blood flow; this was with the strap completely loose and slack. Also there was insufficient room for the index finger; it was too tight and restricted blood flow. For reference I’m 5’8”, 183 pounds, very dense athletic build with a 32” waist and medium t-shirt.
Nice Mitts
The only issue for me is that the right insert stitch is not aligned so it runs across my middle finger interferes with the hand feel and comfort. The left one is good and if both were I could go five stars. If I were able to get a replacement medium right hand insert I would certainly be BD convert. Scooped some rain pants last year and am happy with them as well.
Warmer than regular Soloist gloves, decent dexerity
I tried the regular Soloist gloves (5 separate fingers) for a couple seasons, and my hands were frequently numb at high altitude. The Soloist Finger gloves (lobster stytle) allow you to group fingers together within the glove to warm them up, and appear to have more insulation. They're bulky, but have surprisingly decent dexterity, enough to pull zippers.
Toasty gloves!
I purchased these gloves to use when shoveling snow and other outdoor activities when we endure our sub-zero winter days. They are slightly awkward because of the size, but that is to be expected with a glove that provides a good level of warmth. The added dexterity which the finger configuration provides is good for holding a shovel or other items.
Good dexterity and warm
Got these to move away from mitts for alpine ascents. I love warm mitts, but there is obviously no dexterity and these solved that problem. The only improvement they could make at this price point is including wrist cuffs so you don't lose them. I like the brown color and the grip for rope and carabiners is great. Love my BD gear.
Stellar and warm
These gloves are exceptionally warm for their weight and dexterous enough to be used in cold alpine climbing environments. The liner is removeable and has a wind-stop liner so it can used as a lighter glove in dry environments. They are also more affordable (and durable) than other gloves of its kind by other brands.
Perfect Fit
I normally wear size XL to XXL in most glove brands. I hesitated when sizing these per the size chart as it had me at a size L. I ordered per the chart and they fit perfectly. I haven't used yet so can't comment on longevity but in all appearance are well made. Looking forward to skiing with them in a few weeks.
The gloves are lava
I don’t know if I really need these gloves. My hands usually have good circulation and these things are BEEFY. The construction is good and the leather palms are nice. I’m half skier and half snowboarder, so the half-mitten/glove is fitting. Are they called glittens or mloves?
Cold Climbing
Cold weather has returned to Ice Climbing in Canada and trigger finger mittens is the answer. The singular problem with all mittens and gloves is taking them off and putting them back on when hands get wet. These mitts are on the more positive end of that spectrum
