Quality issues
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Columbia quality is not what it used to be. As a long time Columbia fan this jacket leaves much to be desired. In the looks and the warmth department they they knocked it out of the park. But the fit and finish is terrible. The main zipper does not work well. The jacket has many unfinished threads hanging off of it. The hood bungees and waist bungees are extra long and bagged out. The sizing is way off. I have worn a large Columbia jacket for 25 years. I ordered a medium in this jacket and it's slightly tight in the body and very tight in the back and shoulder area. I tried on a large jacket and it's very big. It fits more like an traditional XL. It seems like there should be a size between medium and large.

Warm, comfortable with minor flaws
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Solid coat, got it on end of season discount the thermal lining make this one of my favorite winter coats for the Midwest United States there are some minor gripes loose threads, zipper occasionally requires a little jiggling to get started (might be due to the waterproof seal on it I've never owned anything with the waterproof YKK zippers) other than that it's quickly become my go to coat
My first ski jacket, but I'm not disappointed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never owned a ski jacket before so I don't have anything to compare it to, but so far it's hands down my favorite winter jacket I've owned. I don't know what wizardry they use, but it's ability to keep me just warm enough but not too warm in such a wide range of conditions is wild. Also the inside of the jacket being so slick makes layering underneath it (in case you actually need it warmer, like Antarctica, maybe) you can put base layers or fleece under it easily. It has several features to keep the wind from blowing up underneath it, which are all just fine but the real gem here is the zippered armpit vents. It's really easy to cool off when you start to sweat.
Solid Jacket
Bought this jacket before a day on the mountain snowboarding. It kept me very warm and dry even with some rough falls. The netted pocket on the inside was great for storing my big gloves when I didn’t need them. By the end of the day, I noticed a few very tiny strands of string dangling off the jacket that could have even been there to begin with, but I don’t consider it to be much of an issue. I figure some small imperfections are to be expected, but I know others may care more about such things. Some zippers gave some trouble as they get caught in the surrounding fabric, especially the armpit zippers, but I was always able to get it unstuck without much fuss. Overall I was very comfortable and happy on the mountain in my new jacket. All of its pockets and features worked great for me and I didn’t take it off the entire day. I could ask for a bit more out of the appearance of the jacket as it is a bit blocky, but I care way more about how it functions. As long as it holds up over time, I’ll consider it a great, quality purchase.
