Great pack for shorter backpacking trips!
I've used this bag on several 2-3 night trips and found it to be the perfect size. The exterior features are in perfect spots and allow for the attachment of a lot of gear to the outside of the pack with ease. The pack its self is light and the materials very durable. Some of the specific features of the bag are definitely tailored toward mountaineering/backcountry ski/climbing expeditions, but it functions as a hiking bag just as well. The only con i found with this bag is the clips for the ice-axe loops are at a weird angle and can be hard to clip/unclip when you have gear in the loops. I can see it getting stuck/frustrating in freezing temperatures. A small drawback for the benefits this bag offers.

Solid climbing pack, not great for long approaches
Pros: Spacious, durable, several attachment points. Back unzips that can fit a rope and tarp straight into the bottom of the pack. Cons: internal frame is removable, and the Velcro keeper isn’t strong enough to retain it if the pack is loaded down. Hip belts don’t offer a ton of support if pack is loaded down.
Phenomenal Backcountry Bag
I've used the Trion for all things climbing and skiing for over 5 years now. Ice climbing across the west, skiing throughout the Colorado Back Country, rock and alpine objectives in Utah desert, to Rocky Mountain Peaks, to Wyoming's Vedauwoo meat grinder and it has handled it all. I'm not going to knock a star off for this, because they've fixed it in updated models, but the tensioning shoulder straps came loose if the brain of the pack got caught on them. Have recommended and sold several of these since I've owned.

Best Climbing Pack I've had
I would give this 10 stars if it wasn't for the flimsy fabric that holds the lightweight aluminum frame inside the pack. it's a very thin channel that runs along either side near the back and is in direct contact with the pack's interior items. If say one is constantly shoving a trad rack in and out, the frame will soon be busting out of the interior channel. If Mammut fixed that single issue, there isn't a single pack on the market I would ever even look at again

I've been using the Trion 50 for 2 months now and I love it! I use it exclusively for ski touring and I have to saw that it's pretty darn good at what it's designed to do. It is super light and confortable even during a long day of touring. There is plenty of space to store everything I need and I love the back pocket to access my stuff easily. To make it perfect I would add some adjustment on the chest strap to allow for a tighter fit. I'm 5'10'' and 155 lb.

Great Backcountry Ski Pack
I've been using this pack for a couple of seasons for Backcountry Skiing. I recently used this for a hut trip and it was able to handle all that I needed for a couple of nights out. It's light enough that its my go-to for single day trips. Construction quality is top notch and I've had no issues with about 25 days out with this pack. Dedicated avy tools pocket is huge and allows you to easily organize safety gear separately from your load for the day/trip. Haven't used some of the built-in mountaineering features. This pack cinches down well and carries load well. Only giving 4 stars due to wear and tear noted on the fabric isolating the internal frame material; pretty lightweight and had some small holes develop with metal spare parts rubbing against the frame through the fabric - just a watchout for packing this rig.

Go to touring pack
Back access zip means you don't have to turn your arm into a skill crane to retrieve a layer, or a snack! Plenty if room for the muti-day objectives, compressible for going light on a day tour. Also great for winter camping. This is your pack to use after several tours or years touring, but it would work for first timers as well - just not sure you'll appreciate everything it gives you because there's a lot to figure out when you start.

Best Pack in its Class
This was a great pack for a 3day Climb on Mt Shasta. Was able to carry all my equipment pretty well, Though I could work on my packing skills. This is one of the only packs with back ventilation, back access, Ski Carry, & an avy/skin pocket. My only complaint was that the square frame sat too high, but that was easily remedied by bending the frame into a slight "M" shape to give some relief when looking up with a helmet.

Very comfortable and awesome access
Took this pack out finally today. Loaded it up and the shoulder straps are amazing. Love the functionality of this pack. The back panel loading is incredible for snowy/wintertime activities. The removable hip belt and other features are great! It has everything my other climbing packs has, removable hip belt, rope carry strap, gear loops, tool attachments. Can't wait to get this out on a big mountain!

Great backpack
I've taken this bag on a few short weekend backpacking trips now. The back opening pouch is generous, and the fit is good for me at 5'10" 180 lbs. Expandable, the straps aren't too excessive. Only wish the angle on the side pockets was different to make it easier to retrieve a water bottle from them with my lower mobility shoulders. Overall a great product.
