Light but Warm
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own 4 Columbia Jackets which are for Rain to extreme cold weather. Each has exceed my expectation but this Jacket is great because it is so light you feel your wearing a spring Jacket but keeps you warm like a much heavier one .
No Room for Layers
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket is well made and I really like that the material isn't shiny. It has good strong zippers. Although you can't tell it from the online images, there is only one inside drop-in pocket. This jacket fits closer than other Columbia jackets I have purchased. There is not enough room for a layer underneath. If you intend to wear it without any layers underneath, this jacket is for you, but if you like to wear a sweatshirt or vest under your jacket in cold weather, you would do best to pass on this one. I returned it.
Very poor fit. Odd SIzing.

I purchased my normal size based on the sizing chart provided and the actual product measurements are way off the purported size chart measurements. Disappointing given the product material is high quality. I'd recommend the Columbia product team be consistent with their product sizing, as I've purchased a plethora of different products in different sizes (small. medium, and large) that all fit the same, and there appears to be very little consistency between sizes from product to product.

Perfect in every way
Yeah! Just what I needed! Lightweight, versatile, a good, warm, "run around" jacket, great style, "my color" ( according to my Chinese Horoscope ), so, I am one happy guy with my new Columbia Birchwood Insulated Jacket! Hurray! Thanks so much for helping to enhance my life in such a nice way!
oversized
Pros: Nice style and typical Columbia quality Cons: medium size was good fit through the shoulders and arm pits but the torso is baggy. This leaves a lot of room at the hem for wind to blow up into the jacket from front and back. This negates the heat retention technology.

It fits!
I guess they took the suggestions on sizing because I wear M but having not read reviews, bought L for layering. It’s the perfect fit and good quality. For the price it was probably the best jacket I could buy.
Great jacket!

Fits a little big but still fits well.

Great product but runs too large
I just received the product. I bought it for my brother who is size M. My husband wears L and it was even too large for my husband. Unfortunately returning.

Oversized
Great Jacket by WAY oversized. I usually wear medium. I bought one - it was large (torso and sleeve length) even for a usual large! Sent it back ASAP.
