Longer length at the expense of features
REI’s previous kids sleeping bag, Nodder, was for the same max height (fits up to 60”) but is quite short in usage. By my measurements Nodder is 59” and Kinder 66” from tip to tail. The Nodder barely fits my 48” camper comfortably. The Kindercone is a good 7 inch longer with bigger hood, and an unexplainably large weight jump (from 2lb8oz to 3lb3oz per REI’s specs). However, the Kindercone also loses the double-sided (left and right) opening of the Nodder. As a left handed person, I appreciated this feature, particularly for campers who don’t know left from right anyway.
One of your best products
I have bought 7 of them for grandchildren and great nephews. The parents and kids all love them. The kids love them so much they sleep in them at home when they build forts. The parents love them because the kids stay warm when camping here in Colorado and Montana. They are also easy to clean. I will be back for more as additional grandchildren and great nephews/nieces get of age to use them.
Greta value for warm sleeping bags
Bought 2 sleeping bags for my grandkids. They loved the colors and style. Nice how the bag is attached for packing it up. won't lose it.
Great for kids
Great gift for my young grandson who can use this for years
Sleeping bag too bulky for backpacking.
I’m certain this is an excellent sleeping bag but it was way too bulky and heavy to use on our backpacking trip
Looking back
Our son is 12 and just growing out of his kindercone kids bag that we have had since he was 3. The bag has been wonderful - he hasn't ever been cold, it's easy to clean, and it has grown with him. We have used it for everything from sleepovers to backpacking trips. Definitely recommend!
