Feeling bouncy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am incredibly impressed with this shoe. Soft but bouncy, snug but not too tight. Genuinely felt a little boost in speed as soon as I started running with them, and they feel cushioned no matter where my foot strikes. They’re not great on trails (I think the soft cushion plus soft trail kills the responsiveness), but that’s a personal problem - I dream of a shoe that does it all - not an issue with the shoe. I wouldn’t hesitate to use these for a recovery run or easy day! I haven’t tried picking up the pace in these, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they performed well on a tempo. Overall thrilled with this shoe, and it’s true to size!

Versatile and comfortable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Short and sweet? I loved wearing this shoe. Versatile, comfortable, and cute training shoe. The foam cushion is exceptional, but it didn’t come with a loss of speed or responsiveness. I have high arches and the shoes were extremely comfortable on both the arch and the top of the foot. The toe box is roomy, which i find to be a particularly valuable part of NB shoes. I put these shoes through it to see how they’d do - speed runs, recovery runs, hills, and up to 10 miles of a long run. These shoes HELD UP. I didn’t feel like i was losing speed on pick ups and I didn’t feel heavy on a long run. My only piece of feedback, which is admittedly a very small one, is that these shoes do retain a bit of heat in hot weather. Highly recommend.

Perfect for MY Hyrox race and training!

I purchased these 2 weeks before my second Hyrox race and got them just a week before the race. I had limited training in them but they still felt great during the race and even better afterwards!!! My current training in these consist of running at minimum 7 miles a week and some resistance training.

SUPER EXTREMELY COMFY

Using it for Brisk Walking. Oh my goodness, it did not hurt my feet at all!! It did not roll my heels either, which I had issues on my other brand shoes. This is my ever first purchase, and definitely not the last. I cannot wait for my next pair. Extremely and highly recommended!!!

Looks nice but gave me blisters.

I got this shoes in March 2025. I’ve used them for long walks (usually 10K+) on weekends since. The shoes are comfortable and feet are well supported. I was so happy with them initially. The color scheme is nice to look at (ash and green). I joined (brisk walked) the Vancouver Sun Run in late April. The following day I got big painful blisters on the side of my big toes and on my pinky toes. It must be due to the material of the shoes that caused the friction with my feet rubbing inside when I bricked walked. Also the sole will pick up saps and they are hard to remove.

Wanted to love these but not good for walking

I really wanted to love these shoes as my mom absolutely loves and raves about hers as she wears hers all the time but unfortunately I cannot say the same. I waited until a gray sole option came out in the 1080’s and then purchased the Castlerock with Grey Matter and Black 3 weeks ago and they look great! Initially the feel was different with the extra foam cushion (which is good) but I noticed there was a “drop” feeling when shifting my weight towards my heels. Not having a walking shoe with this much cushion before, I assumed I would just need to adjust to the new feel and all would be good. After wearing them 3 times for my daily 2-3 mile walk around my neighborhood, I developed huge blisters on the inside of my heels which has never happened before. I treated/covered them and waited over a week to allow them to heal before trying them again. After 2 more daily walks, I can already feel the blisters beginning to form again. Not sure if there is a defect with this particular pair or if it’s just the shoe style so I was hoping to be able to return/exchange them for another pair and try again; however, the New Balance policy requires them to be in new condition as I received them. Not sure how anyone is ever able to return anything without trying them first with that policy. Despite the rest of the shoe being in new condition, the soles already have [minimal] wear on the bottom and the sides have “folds” in them so I guess I’m stuck with an expensive shoe that will sit on the shelf in my closet to wear only while sitting vs. walking.

Super comfy

They are extremely comfortable. I’m size 7.5 but in sneakers i always use 8. These are wide and i love it. I have used them for long walk by the city, and before my feet would hurt but they haven’t when I used them. I also used them for HIIT exercises and gym exercises. Not ideal but when traveling that’s all I have. They are uncomfortable when using Peloton bikes at the hotels. The foam is too big and feels weird when placing on the pedals. Occasionally they bother me on the side of my ankle but if I adjust the tongue it stops bothering me.

Amazing for walking ALL day!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been running in these shoes for a couple of weeks and I LOVE them. They have great support if you have high arches, and are extremely comfortable. I have a slightly wider toe box and the shoe adapts really well to the shape of my foot without feeling too tight. I am a teacher and use them to walk all day (they are very cute which I like) and have no more pain in my feet after school! I also use them on runs and they have amazing cushioning. I highly recommend them- it's perfect for runners looking for a versatile daily trainer.
