I’m a pool guy that’s on my feet all day, recently switched from AX4s to these. Adidas Gore Tex is unmatched, and all 3 pair of various Terrex I’ve had are tough as nails. The Free Hiker is SOOOOOOOOO much more comfortable than any other Terrex I’ve had, the BOOST midsole gives it some sponginess (not as much h as Ultra Boost) but it’s still a very capable and serious shoe. In my opinion, this is the best hiking shoe I’ve had for what I need. They are definitely a half size big, so order a half size down. I have wide ol’ duck feet, and the regular width is perfect. I’ll buy these again when they go back on sale, but I love these so much that I’d pay the full price and be happy about it.
Excellent cushioning and support decrease fatigue during lengthy walks and climbs in the shoes. My feet stay comfy after hours of use because of the ergonomic design, minimizing blisters. Waterproof material shifts the game. Whether hiking through mud or in an unexpected shower, it keeps my feet dry. Wet feet can cause chafing and freezing; this function is helpful. High-quality materials make the shoes durable on rugged terrain. This durability keeps them in good shape despite regular use, adding value. Hiking on uneven or slippery ground requires an excellent sole grip. Knowing I have a lower slip risk on challenging trails gives me confidence.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Keep my feet dry from wet grass on my morning walks/hikes with my dogs. Great shoe, very comfortable also.
I had a pair of these shoes in black and white. I loved them - they were super comfortable and looked great. But the frayed at the ankle and I reluctantly returned them. I couldn’t reorder as they had run out. I ordered this latest version this week and I couldn’t even wear them all night in the house, let alone on a hike. The right foot was ok, although much stiffer than the last pair I had so not as comfortable. The left shoe was poorly constructed - lump at the heel which would have caused me a blister and a lump at the front which was very uncomfortable. So there is a manufacturing problem here. A real disappointment. They will be going back.
I have purchased many waterproof hiking shoes in the past and these are by far the best. The waterproof uppers on every other shoe have always torn before the soles have worn very much. I have worn this shoe almost every day for over a year and have used it in tropical rain forest. It has lasted wonderfully, is comfortable, and keeps my size 12 feet dry! I just ordered a second pair although my first pair seem to have many miles to go.
The Adidas Terrex Free Hiker 2.0 Low is a versatile and stylish hiking shoe built for both trails and city streets. It features Boost cushioning for all-day comfort, a breathable yet durable upper, and a Continental rubber outsole that delivers excellent grip on various surfaces. Lightweight and low-cut, it provides great agility without sacrificing stability. Whether you're hiking light trails, exploring urban areas, or traveling, this shoe offers the right blend of performance and comfort. Its modern design also makes it easy to wear beyond outdoor settings. Ideal for active lifestyles, it’s a smart pick for everyday adventures.
Comfortable, good looking, quality shoes for rainy season. I really like em. If nitpicking,- the toe box could be little wider. Sizing comes slightly bigger than other adi shoes i got, but would be perfect with thicker, warmer socks. Overall very happy with this purchase. They were very comfortable right out of the box, but after couple of weeks of breaking in they are just perfect now. Would definitely recommend.
Wish I had the chance to try them. I ordered 2 different shoes in a size 7. The drop set 3s fit perfectly, these were outrageously enormous. I compared them to the drop set and there was a significant size difference. I triple checked the box, the tag, and the shoe. All of them said 7. I just got both of them yesterday. I dropped these shoes off to be returned on my way home from work today.
I am very happy with these shoes. Regarding waterproofing, the goretex is helpful in rain and small puddles but due to it being a low top naturally water was able to get in when I stepped in a small stream and it was soaked for the rest of the hike. I would opt for the non waterproof version next time. I'm very satisfied with the comfort and traction. It's comfortable and stylish enough that I can wear it as my daily but it is a tad heavier than a standard shoe. When ascending and descending Mount Fuji, I would say that the traction is sufficient, I had an occasional slip when I stepped on larger rocks that were both smooth and slick due to rain but for gravel, and loose dirt it does the job.
The outsole is really good, i was under heavy rain for 3 days and my feet were always dry. The shoes are very comfortable, they run kind of big, im usually a 10.5 but i bought a size 10 and its still a bit big for me
