Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements.
SHORT: Some pants are available in short sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 2.5 inches shorter than regular sizes.
TALL: Some pants, shirts, jackets and parkas are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer, a parka body that is 2.5 inches longer and sleeves that are 2.5 inches longer than regular sizes.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Versatile Quarter-Zip for Runs & Hikes
I grabbed the REI Co-op Active Pursuits Long-Sleeve Quarter-Zip Pullover in men's large after struggling with other long-sleeve shirts that never quite nailed the fit for my 6'2", 195-pound frame—larges often left sleeves too short, while XLs bagged out awkwardly on the torso. This one hit the sweet spot right away: snug but not restrictive, with sleeves that stay put without riding up. It's designed for active pursuits, and I've put it through its paces on cool and warm weather hikes and runs, where breathability and comfort are non-negotiable. On a recent 9-mile hike in Shenandoah National Park, I layered it under a daypack amid humid, sweaty conditions. Despite the long sleeves, it never felt clammy or heavy—the lightweight fabric wicked moisture away brilliantly, keeping me dry and comfortable even as the humidity climbed. No friction or chafing from the pack straps on my shoulders or back, which has been an issue with bulkier shirts in the past. Later, during a trail run, the thumb holes were a game-changer: they kept the sleeves anchored without any strain on my thumbs or hands, unlike other running tops where it feels like you're constantly tugging at the fabric. The integrated design just works seamlessly. The subtle zipper pocket near the hem is genius for storing essentials like a debit card, ID, and a $20 bill—it stays flat, blends into the aesthetics, and doesn't bounce around. I hardly noticed it was there. Pros: Exceptional breathability and quick-drying (it was bone-dry in my car by the time I got home after the hike, ready for reuse); maintains its soft feel, shape, and comfort after multiple washes, hikes, and runs; perfect fit for taller, athletic builds with no bagginess or shortness; thumb holes that actually enhance mobility without pulling. Cons: The pocket zipper could be tricky to grip with gloves on in colder weather, and it's not sized for bulkier items like a phone or wallet (though that's fine for its minimalist vibe); the back of the collar feels about half an inch too short when fully zipped, occasionally rolling slightly under pack bounce on downhill runs—not a dealbreaker, but noticeable during jostling. A slightly taller collar could make it even better for pack-heavy activities. It's eco-conscious too, made with recycled materials, which aligns with my outdoor ethos. I'd wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a reliable mid-layer for hikes, runs, or even casual days—especially taller folks tired of fit compromises. I'm already planning to order another; it's that comfortable—I could wear it all day without a second thought.
best running quarter zip I have!
Amazing fit. It’s stretchy enough. I could pull up my sleeves if I need to during a run. However, gives me the best temperature control with how light the material is.
Must have layer for all seasons
Bought this zip up about five months ago and it has been one of my most favorite purchases from REI! I wear it quite often as either a light jacket for summer night, brisk morning run, base layer for colder months and it has held up well! The material is super soft and stretchy plus it has a great cut. A great zip up to invest into!
Winter running
I like this one because it’s in between a shirt and a hoodie. Perfect for winter runs and super comfortable
Nice but zipper broke after five wears
Dig the color and the hooks for your thumbs but the zipper broke yo!
love the fit, don’t love that it fell apart
Fabric soft and awesome, as was fit. After wearing for one day under light conditions (not hard outdoors) the bottom rear hem completely came undone. Not exactly quality workmanship. Returning.
Ease & Comfort
I bought this in 3 colors because it is super-comfortable and works very well as a substitute for constantly having to apply sunscreen, which is an expensive and messy process. I can wear one around the yard while gardening, or put one on over another shirt while driving or walking, then take this of when it get to a restaurant, brewery, etc.
On the Camino
I wore this shirt daily and was very impressed at how it handled all the conditions of weather that the Northern part of Spain will bless you with. On a Camino You Pack Light and wear what you pack. And this shirt did that for me on the Northern and English Camino’s this past month
nice summer activity shirt
nice and light, fit is appropriate to size chart. color represented on the web site is always iffy. would rate it a 5 except for color. color should be stated as purple or plum not " raisin". seems like you are trying too hard to suggest your colors are unique.
Nice material
Nice material, good weight. Would be 5 stars except the zipper doesnt have a proper stay stitch, so its possible to unhouse the zipper at the bottom.
