Best Sun Shirt Yet!

I bought this shirt for my recent 4 day backpacking trip to Havasupai and it never smelled! I’ve previously owned Tyr and Mountain Hardware (Crater Hoodie) shirts and while I love the fit and hip pocket of the later, both would reek of BO one hour into a hike. This Free Fly shirt never smelled! It also didn’t pill around my pack hip straps, etc. It is very light weight and great at moisture wicking. A word of caution about that on multi-day backpacking trips: if it rains and your pants get wet, the shirt will absorb all the water off of your pants and be soaked. But if you are going somewhere hot and dry, definitely take this shirt!

My sweat stained it

I loved the color and texture of this sun hoody but it weirdly stained in the arm pits and lower back after my first hike in it. I’ve never had that happen to any of my clothing before. I don’t know if it reacts to certain deodorants or sweat but it shouldn’t do that

Not what I imagined

I really wanted to love this sun hoodie. I bought it for my 6 month trip to Africa. The fit is flattering, the fabric is soft, and I like the thumb holes. The hoodie didn’t feel too tight either. However, the fabric did not hold up. I did not get the piling other users have mentioned, but after wearing this shirt while hiking Mt.Kilimanjaro with a pack the sweat stains never came off. Disappointing. I even brought it back to the states and tried soaking it in Oxi. Not a good look at all. Would not purchase any other tops from this company despite loving their bottoms.

Nice product but small details are missing

This is a nice product and very soft, but there was a small hole in the shoulder and a loose seam.

AMAZING!!!!

Went to REI and compared the Free Fly sun hoodie with the REI, Columbia and Janji brand and by far Free Fly was my favorite!! I purchased 2 of them. They are so soft and the material feels like it will be so much.cooler. I live in Texas and the sun is blazing. I need protection but I want a breathable material and this brand was the perfect choice for me.

Great for backpacking

Kept me pretty cool hiking in the sun (80 degree temps) and also a good evening layer. Quick to dry. Wore this for three days straight in the back country and smelled great.

Perfect for my needs

I bought two of the white bamboo hoodies for when I mow the lawn, though I will probably use them for other things too. I'm comfortably covered and protected from the sun, dust and pollen. I also wear goggles and a mask. We have a large lawn. I wish I had thought of getting a hoodie before instead of wearing a hat. This is so much nicer. I was led to this site looking for a sun shirt that is made of better, more breathable fabric for hot weather. Everything is polyester these days it seems, so the bamboo find (even though there is a little polyester in it) made me very happy. Also a plus- no itchy tags.

the GOAT

The fabric feel is fantastic; soft and lightweight enough that I didn't feel hot on an 85F day. I bought for kayaking but have worn it working in the yard and casually. I am bummed that a thorn grabbed the shirt and caused a snag but I'll get another shirt and my original will be deemed a garden shirt. The shirt dries pretty fast on a warm day. Fit is perfect. I am 5'4", 150 lbs, 34/36D and bought a size medium.

Holes In Less Than An Hour

I REALLY wanted to like this sun hoodie. I love that the selection of colors they have here and it is pretty lightweight. However, I wore this outside and after less than an hour I looked down and saw several holes. I don't even know how they haven't but it is obviously not very durable. I have another sun hoodie that I have used for a year of hiking and climbing and still looks brand new.

Really wanted to love this hoodie

After wearing it for the first time on a recent hike I noticed "pilling" on the front. Possibly from my cars seat belt rubbing on the fabric. My best guess. I ordered two of these hoodies one for me and one that I planned to give as a gift. Will probably return the second one
