Great axe with one obvious drawback
Really good axe in my opinion, especially for the modest price. The head is really solid and I find the adze particularly well-made (especially compared to other axes in the same price range), which is important if you're on ice-chipping duty. Self-arrests well, light enough. The only "issue" I could point to is something you can see just by looking at the axe: there's no finger well where the shaft meets the head, so it really splits your index and middle finger apart uncomfortably wide when you're climbing. Felt kinda sore after 10 hours of climbing to the point where most of the time I wasn't even holding it in the proper self-arrest position.
Excellent and minimal. Add some grip tape.
Extremely light weight and durable. It went 10k with me and worked well as a point anchor when a buddy took a slide.
Arrested
I have nothing to compare it to... but had to arrest myself on it 1 time in moderately soft conditions and self arrested my buddy 2 x over 2 years on it and it dug in firmy and quickly on 54 plus degree slopes.
A plenty fine Ice Axe.
Used this for climbing snowy peaks in the PNW. Saved my butt on some hard pack snow! Does all the things you need a standard ice axe to do. Recommend adding grip tape like other reviewer.
