Say yes to Large Marge
This Rugged Road 85 Cooler measures approx 36inx16inx16in (website says 32 but I think that doesn't include the handles) and will fit in the back of most cars/trucks/SUVs. It has 2 handles on either side that are made out of thick nylon as well as a spout to get rid of any liquids from the cooler, it does not have any rolling features which is probably the only complaint (when it's full of cans it's pretty heavy and due to length of the cooler required 2 people to move, the cooler itself is very lightweight). It has a reversible lid that has 4 cupholders in case you want to hang around camp and chill this sort of doubles as a low table as well as a removable divider and basket for any fragile items (gradeAAA 12 eggs fit in the basket). This cooler is also extremely lightweight and weighs the same as our other 30L Coleman cooler. We left the cooler outside overnight to "chill it" (along with a few ice packs) and it worked well to keep our beverages cold for 12 hours.
A ton of space in a lightweight but durable shell.
This is pretty obviously a nice cooler, with lots of well-thought-out features. It’s lightweight, especially given its size, and it's nice to not have the cooler itself adding much to the overall weight because once full with ice, drinks, and food this large cooler inevitably gets heavy. You'll want two people to carry this when loaded. Given that, I’m a fan of wheels on big coolers. Yes, the addition of wheels usually comes at the cost of volume, added weight, and more breakable parts, but most of the time I find it worth the sacrifice. That said, if you’d rather have the extra volume and don’t need to worry about moving it (when full) on your own, then this thing is cavernous and is lighter than its competition. Feature-wise you get an easily reversible lid (flat on one side, cup holders on the other), a divider wherever you want it, and a tray to place things you might not want sitting in water. It will hold a standard bottle of wine (or 21 of them) upright. (Note that the Champagne bottle in my picture had to be lined up with the cupholder on the underside of the lid in order to be upright.) The latch feels secure and rugged and I appreciate the side handle options of rope and hard-attached. Finally, the cooler drains well, leaving just a little pool of water down in the recess when tilted, and the plug threads on securely with no sign of leakage. Overall I’m very happy with this cooler. If you’re shopping at this price-point then you’re probably looking for the best and this is definitely a contender, with no real competition if weight is your primary concern. You’re getting excellent cold retention, a ton of space, and a durable build that they guarantee to last.
The Only Cooler You’ll Ever Need
I never thought I would be excited about a cooler, but I have had experiences with several coolers in the past. I have used them for camping, house events, and other general events that require a cooler. One great feature of the cooler is its double-handle system. It has a rope AND a comfortable juggy hold, making it easy to carry. Moreover, it is surprisingly lightweight and doesn't feel awkward to haul around (when it is empty) and the exterior is made of a very durable material. Another surprising feature is how easy it is to open the cooler. I am currently experiencing a nerve-hand issue due to a climbing injury, and it has been difficult to do simple things around the house. However, opening this cooler has been very easy, and I find it genius how effortless it is. The closing mechanism takes a little bit of extra pressure, but it does not take much muscle to close the latch. The kick-flip lid is also an awesome and unique feature. It is easy to remove from the hinges, flip, and install. The accessories that come with the cooler are also a nice touch. The snack rack and divider are particularly useful. The cooler has a divider that can be placed anywhere in the cooler, and the snack rack can be placed anywhere on top of the cooler. The snack rack is as tall as one Chobani yogurt cup and an egg carton. It has the capacity to hold up to six yogurts along with some meat sticks or two dozen egg cartons. I hope this clears up any confusion about what can actually fit in there. I did notice that if you pack items at room temperature with ice in the cooler, it can reduce the length of time the ice lasts by about 1-2 days (the cooler is rated to have ice last about 7 days) - which would have been accurate if the items I had placed in the cooler were already chilled. Cleaning out the cooler is super convenient since you can remove the lid which makes it less bulky. The cooler itself can hold up anywhere from 2 - 3 bags of ice with enough room to fill it up with food items. Now that the snow has mostly melted in Wisconsin, it's time for shed hunting (deer antler hunting). It's a great opportunity to prepare a cooler with snacks, food, and drinks.
Rugged Road 85 V2 Cooler
This is by far the best light weight cooler I have laid my hands on. I love that it floats. I can take it with me behind my kayak or floating the river. It also holds ice way longer than any other cooler I've had.

Floating the river is a breeze
If you want long lasting ice retention, without breaking your back with those heavy coolers. This is for you, not to mention it floats upright while FULLY LOADED! Floating the river just got easier.
great for hunting trips!

Holds Up in TX Heat!
Took the gang camping , the whole Rugged Road line up except the RR45 and the new TARDIGRADE. The RR85 was full of frozen food and some premade slushies with 1 bag of ice. 6 hours on the road in the July Texas heat. When we unloaded it, everything was still frozen including the ice! Only a few drops of water in the bottom! But the star of the show was the RR25. Did its job on the river keeping our drinks and snacks cold! Also worked great floating between my wife and I and made a great river side table! Loving the weight and performance of all I have!
Good light long lasting cold cooler
Wanted a cooler that was light relative to Yeti styled designs, but had similar/excellent cooling capabilities. On two week road trip expectations were more than met. Vastly superior cooling to Coleman 5 day cooler with similar weight.
The Coolest
The last cooler you'll ever need. These things are crazy light and retain ice very well...plus, they float! I'll never buy another cooler again, this one has it all!
