These are incredibly light (note - they have zero arch support, which is what I wanted). They fit like a glove and you can feel the road - which I love for my fast runs. I've tried Altras - but was between sizes and found them too bulky. I've also tried Merrell but was between sizes in the Vapor Glove so didn't keep them. If you like the Vapor Glove - I would say these Xero Speed Force II are most similar to the Vapor Glove. I used to use Merrell Trail Glove shoes religiously until they changed their design last year and did not fit well. This is when I had to find another shoes and landed on. I do also like the Xero Mesa Trail II Shoes very much - they have a thicker sole so last longer, you do not feel pebbles as much and are more comfortable on long hikes because they have more cushioning. These the The only 2 negatives I have found for these are that 1) because they are so light, you can certainly feel pebbles under your foot if you use these for hiking in highly-rocky areas and 2) because they are so thin, they wear out quicker than other shoes. I will keep repurchasing given the 2 cons because it's so hard to find perfect-fitting shoes. Good luck.
I have been happy with zero drop Altras but wanted a black version that would be less obviously a sneaker. However, these did not have the expected toe box room that help make the Altras so comfortable for a natural foot motion. I had to return them.
