Fantastic and Endlessly Frustrating
I'll be more specific at a later date - I've been meaning to dig into this thing after having owned since launch and previously using the Coros Pace2 for the half year prior. The metrics it provides and organization of data is first-rate. Some of it is far more rudimentary than Garmin but that's often a good thing. Often though I come across glaring holes in the system, problems with training load, problems with HR monitoring (the, watch is great, battery second to none, but the HR monitor is horrible even by standards of most every other wrist-based type, which isn't great) and problems addressing any of the issues I come across with workarounds... They're usually not possible. Workouts can't be edited after the fact. It doesn't take much to tank a day's worth of metrics, and in turn an entire week's worth. And that's if everything is working properly... It often isn't (even by admission from Coros). Fixes come slowly and often break something else that was working properly. Just peruse the Coros reddit sub and you'll find all the issues. After nearly a year in the system I'm almost ready to go back to Garmin. Part of me adores this watch and part of me frequently wants to crush it under my heel on the ground each time it has me spending more time messing with it than focusing on training.
Trail Running + 9 Days Traveling in Guatemala
I run weekly 8 mile trail runs and just took this on a trip for 9 days backpacking in Guatemala. Used (3) separate GPS functions totaling 15 hours, from walking around cities, tours in jungles, to hiking volcanos at 13,100ft, and still had battery left to the end of the trip. Loved how it tracked all my activities and I can view the maps/stats through the app to see my destinations afterwards. It was hot/humid and very comfortable to where I forgot I was wearing it. The power even went out in at times in Guatemala so the backlit feature came in very handy when it was completely blacked out in the neighborhoods. Comfortable, functional, practical, excellent value - Just get one.
Great on trails!
I’ve been using the Pace 3 for 1-2 months now for hikes/trail runs. Battery life is VERY GOOD. Recording is VERY GOOD. Thing is it just doesn’t show your starting elevation. But over all, really happy with my purchase. I don’t miss my apple series 6 watch and my garmin venu. I was initially eyeing on the fenix but I couldn’t afford it, I’m grateful I got this instead!!
never looking back
I’ve had these for 6 weeks now and I’m never looking back. I’ve tried Apple Watch just for the convenience of it pairing to my phone, but hate the lack of features and how often it does. Garmin felt frustrating and glamorous- nothing has updated in years. Coros is SO GOOD! Touchscreen that you can turn off. Find my phone. Gps is phenomenal. App is so easy to use and lots of info. I’m at 30% right now and that’s after not charging over a week, big 6hr hike yesterday and gym workouts every single day. The only drawback is sometimes when I rest or pause on a hike or run - it seems my hr gets stuck in a lower zone. I know my body and I know my hr has increased but sometimes it’s stuck for up to 5-10mins. Eventually fixes itself!
Great for tracking runs!
Coming from a Apple Watch I like this much more the battery life is amazing the app is wonderful if your more interested in the fitness side of things over smart watches features go for this one.
Excellent Sports Watch
I love this watch! It is very good at what it does: accurate GPS sport tracking! I mostly use it for running, but also hiking, snow sports, and strength training. I like that it is very straight forward and simple in operation and data presentation. Battery life is great, and build quality is very good for the price. The screen is fantastic in direct sunlight, and also very good in the dark (with the backlight) but some of the watch faces can be hard to read in medium light settings. The phone app is simple to use and presents data well. The web app is even better, but also not necessary to get a ton out of the watch. The watch does not have a lot of smartwatch features other than text and phone notifications, which was appealing to me because I wanted something that was simple to use for sports. I usually take the watch off after a workout, but it is comfortable to wear all day when I choose to.
Best Bang for the Buck!
love my new Pace 3! I've only had it for 2 days, but i love the Dashboard and EvoLab metrics. I resumed running after a rather long layoff, and I wasn't satisfied with the limited info my Apple watch gave me. My Pace 3 excels in providing data to help me analyze my current running efforts and plan my training going forward. I'm a huge fan. I highly recommend !
Absolutely would recommend
I purchased this watch in July and haven’t second guessed the decision for a second. I’m not a very serious runner, so some of the metrics exceed my needs. Nonetheless, it’s helpful to see all of the data. Probably the greatest attribute (other than the fantastic battery life) is how incredibly accurate and consistent the GPS is. I ran a half marathon this past Fall on significantly less training than usual but was able to PR purely because I could stick to my predetermined pace due to the real-time pace accuracy of the watch. If you’re looking for something to count steps and monitor heart rate, this watch is definitely more than you need. If you’re looking for a fantastic running watch, look no further.
Reliable company and products.
I don't have a Pace 3 but I have a new Pace 2. It is significantly lighter than the original one. I love the silicone textured band. The band is quite secure as it is designed better to hook into two loops. It is even noninvasive to wear at night to record the sleep. I did so for two nights without discomfort. The menu system has changed as well by adding more exercises such as jump rope. I like that. The coros support team was just amazing as to how they take their products seriously. When I had an issue with my original one, they took action very quickly to resolve the situation. I just love the reliability of both the watch and the company!
Good Value for the Price
My first Smartish Watch. It has a lot of features but the menu requires a steep learning curve and is not well explained in the manual. As noted in other reviews the heart rate monitor during exercise, indoor bike in my case, seems a little inaccurate, at times fluctuating radically without relation to exertion. At rest or in general throughout daily activities it seems very accurate. The silicon band is fiddley but once secured fits well and is comfortable for 24/7 wear. The charging port on the watch requires some pressure to securely connect to the cable. I would buy this product again.
