Amazing shoe!
These have become my go to shoes for everything. Backyard weight lifting during 'Stay Home', mini-adventures on the hills around town, groceries, and then a hike in the snow. Great shoes, should have had skis.
Amazing shoes
This is an amazing, versatile product. Crazy comfort, good technical performance, light weight, and great for evening in camp following a big day of backpacking. The fold down heel that is actually designed for that is brilliant. I’ve been out in in the wilderness with heel blisters and these have saved me. Just hang up the boots on the pack and wander out in the Sessions with the heel down to prevent more skin damage. Great stuff. Oh, and they are a great daily shoe to boot! No lacing required for quick entry/exit, and they look great for rehydrating at the local pub. I love these things so much that I’ve bought pairs for friends and family. Well done BD!
“OMG soooo comfortable”
I bought the Pink ones for a friend’s birthday and had them shipped directly to her. She texted me after receiving them “OMG soooo comfortable”. She absolutely LOVES these shoes so much. She said the fit great, comfortable, light, and exactly the kind of shoes she needed
Fantastic approach shoe and only 1 complaint
I love these shoes. Great for biking, walking, hiking, and climbing except one problem...I wish I would have dozed down 1/2 size. I wear 8.5 and that is what I ordered but they run a little bit big and it’s hard to climb in them with so much extra at the toe.

2 years of loving these shoes!
I never write reviews. But, these shoes deserve it. I’m not a climber, but I use these shoes every day at work. I work at a ski resort and am running up and down stairs and from one end of the resort to the other all day. These shoes are so light weight, it’s like wearing slippers. And yet, my legs don’t ache or feel tired at the end of the day. I love the slip on heels for quick trips to the garage or garden. I’m a true size 8, and these shoes fit perfect. If you want a little extra room for your toes, then go up half a size. I also like that these shoes don’t have the extra heel sole like running shoes do. I find the heel catches on stairs when going down. I wouldn’t hike in them or run, but for everything else, I’m a FAN!
Great for Zumba, Barre, and Dancing in general
Not only do these shoes look good, they glide over a wooden dance floor.
Unimpressive
I first really loved these shoes- they were comfortable, portable, and fit well. After owning them for five months and using them sparingly (less than 20 times?) in a variety of environments- my local gym, crag, and just as street shoes- I can say that these are some of the least durable shoes I have ever owned. The rubber is flaking off and separating from the main body of the shoe and the fabric has stretched so that now they are far too big/loose. I have taken care of them and kept them in cool, dry environments when I am not wearing them and my local crag isn't a particularly technical area, so I have no idea how these have managed to hold up so poorly besides being a poor quality item. Black diamond makes some great stuff, these are not one of their great things.
Confession on the Session
This was the first shoe I've purchased with Black Diamond. I loved how light they are and hot they have the ability to make it almost a slipper to quickly slip on hands free when running out to warm up my car or grab the mail. My only complaint was it made a small sore at the top of the shoe next to my ankle bone the first 2 times I wore them but since then, I tend to wear the Sessions 5 days a week. From biking to the brewery, to working as a property manager to walking the dog, they are my go-to shoe.
Collapsible Heel for the Win
This shoe has quickly become my go-to for training sessions. When moving from the hangboards to the climbing wall/going from climbing shoes to street shoes, these can't be beat. The collapsible heel is super clutch and makes getting the shoes on my feet quick and easy. Additionally, if I am just hangboarding or if I only have them on for a short period of time I can just leave the heel down entirely. I have also done entire off the wall conditioning sessions in the weight room in these shoes with ease.
Great casual shoe
I use these shoes for everyday life - going to the store, walks in the neighborhood with my dog, etc. - and find them to be quite comfortable (after a little bit) and nice looking. I generally wear a size 10 and have slightly, but certainly not very, wide feet. I purchased a 10 initially but found these to be very narrow and uncomfortable. I was able to try a size 10.5 in the store and found these to be a much better fit. There was a spot on the left, inner ankle that would rub but that has gone away with a week or two of use. The shoe did stretch out a bit more and I am still glad to have sized up. The bottoms are very bad for walking on snow however and seem to collect it all, making for a slippery experience. These are very flat shoes with not a lot of cushion - which I do like though.
