This has become probably my current favorite indoor shoe at the moment. I'm a V5-ish climber and have really enjoyed these. I have previous experience with the Scarpa Instinct VS/VSR, LS Theory, LS Skwama and Scarpa Veloce. I think this compares favorably in its design intent to the Scarpa Veloce, e.g.: a climbing shoe for beginner to intermediate climbers with some more 'high-end' aggressive features. My two favorite features are the split tongue design and the heel design. The split-tongue is hugely convenient and makes getting in and out of the shoes super easy. The heel is relatively low volume and more 'square' in shape (in comparison to the more 'bulbous' heel shapes common with Scarpa and La Sportiva'. I would classify the heel as 'minimalistic'. It doesn't have a ton of rubber which allows it to mold to my heel well, but it won't be well suited for constant/aggressive heel hooks. This shoe fits my 'duck feet' (wide forefoot with shallow/narrow heels) very well. I sized this shoe at my street size of 44/10.5 (which is 'max performance' per Evolv'). The break-in was painful but only lasted about two sessions. The shoes have relaxed slightly and now fit at my desired 'uncomfortable but not painfully tight' preference. For comparison, I size my Instincts at 42.5, Veloces at 42.5, Theory at 42 and Skwama at 41.5.
Really loving these. I’m 6’5” and have a larger foot size (34/14) and soft soled shoes like the Zenist or LS Solutions just don't provide enough support for me, they place an excessive amount of stress on the arch of my foot and my feet quickly end up fatigued. The V6s are a the exact opposite. I feel full supported, they can edge on a dime and have taken my toe hook game to a whole new level. If you’re a larger foot/heavier climber, these give you the foot support you need.
This shoe doesnt dissapoint! I used them for trad, multipitch, hard sport climbing and bouldering and it feels great. Love the flex of the sole, not too stiff, not too soft. After years of tight 2,5 downsized skwamas, i bought these 0.5/1 size above my street shoe size and it performs just the same way. A bit more down turn would be nice tho
i wear a size 11 street shoe and i ordered sizes 10.5,11, and 11.5 and i couldn’t even get my foot in any of them
Bought a pair about 13 months ago. I've climbed the life out of them and have just replaced them with another pair. Super shoe.
I upgraded from black diamond beginner shoes! No complaints! Make sure you go up a size or 1.5 size up.
