I've only had the shoes for about 12 days and they're already falling apart on me. They're incredibly comfortable and do a great job at keeping my feet dry, but they just aren't durable. Admittedly I haven't been using these solely for running, but they are falling apart faster than any other shoe I've owned.
Like most Saucony's which I've ran in, this fits true to size. I run in 10.5 and at 6'1" and 245 pounds I'm in that special "Clydesdale" caterogy of runners. For my needs, I consider this a well cushioned daily trainer and in love with this shoe. The midsole delivers the responsiveness I am looking for to put in the time on feet for longer runs and the outsole has great coverage and traction that I want for all-weather runs (rain or snow hard-pack). I think the runshield is the secret weapon here and gives me the confidence, if not smiling enthusiasm, to take on the various elements the Canadian Fall throws at me!
These have done great over the winter. Warm, cushiony and squishy. They have great support for the mid and forefoot striker, though I probably wouldn't recommend these for a heel-striker. The outsole has a nice stickiness that has held up over time, The runshield fabric in this version is much better than the past and wont soak through. With that said, the design of the triumph version specifically has giant holes where the lace/midfoot reinforcement runs through the upper that can allow some water or snow through. Otherwise, these make a great cushy, recovery and long run shoe.
Too narrow. I think they did not account for the thickness of the upper material - but cut it on the same pattern as the standard 'Triumph 20'. As a result, the interior volume is too small. I can only wear these with thin sox, which sort of defeats the purpose of a winter shoe. PS. this is the first Saucony shoe of the last 2 years that I would rate as less than 5 stars, and in the last two years I have purchased 8-9 pairs.
Thank you for your feedback on the Triumph 20 RUNSHIELD Saucony. We will share your comments with our product team. Thank you for being a fan of Saucony.
Just got these so not sure how they’re going to hold up. These things are super light. great support. I like that the drop is not huge. The color way imo is awesome. I like to wear shoes a little looser, which is kinda tough with these. They’re fine, but I feel like they could be a half size larger
This is my second pair of Triumphs. I was experimenting and tried every brand of running shoe available in Rhode Island. I rated them all and came back to Saucony as my #1. I'm a 100% disabled Veteran and my feet have nerve damage. They fit great and don't aggravate my feet when I run.
I bought these having loved the Triumph 18. Some of the quality in the laces and heel seems to have diminished. The shoe is obviously much higher which takes some getting used to. Comfortable ride. Big fan of Saucony but this was a bit of a let down.
My go to daily runners as a heavy runner. They are great for long and easy runs, but have enough bounce to do some speed work. If your over 180lbs the extra cushioning makes these great daily shoes. The runshield do run a little tight, half size up.
I got these as an everyday trainer for shorter runs as an alternative to my Saucony Endorphin Speed 2s. They felt a bit clunky from what I was expecting. They also fit a bit narrow. Still very comfortable, just not exactly what I was expecting.
Triumphs have long been my go-to for comfortable training miles. There's enough pep to keep it interesting and cushioned enough that I ran my first marathon in Triumphs. The RunShield will come in handy for our Alberta winters.
