These were my first pair of brooks trail shoes, I’ll be getting more. I was looking for a shoe that has the cushion for longer training runs and 30k and up races. I’m slow so I wanted something that would be comfortable when my gait breaks down and I’m heel striking on the trail. The grip is there in the mud and wet rocks. Shoes did a good job or draining water when I’ve been through puddles. Despite them looking bulky, they feel anything but bulky on my feet. I’m able to get good heel lockdown so my feet don’t slide on downhills. If I pick up the pace I feel quick enough in these that I don’t feel the need to look for another shoe during quicker paced runs. Sizing felt true to size for me. The ventilation has been good this summer. However on very dusty trails I do notice dusty toes when the run is over due to that upper ventilation. No real qualms for me.
It’s 2024, feeling the ground is overrated. These shoes give you the bouncy high cushion ride of a high end road shoes, but for the trail. Maybe it’s mental, but I think the miles fly by when I’m wearing the calderas. I rotate with the cascadias and find those to be better over heavy rocks and roots (New England stuff), but the calderas really excel over the tamer sections between rock gardens, especislly steeps climbs and descents. I also find much better heel retention on these and more security when bombing downhill. Super fun shoe, especially for true mountain running, now my go to for just about anything!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been very impressive with the Caldera 7s. The shoes have a super comfortable fit. They have a nice bounce and balance to them. I have wearing to errands around town and for run indoor and outdoor. They are also very supportive for my weak ankles. The Caldera 7 are awesome looking shoes that are very sleek and sporty. The fabric is breathable and very easy to wash. The comfortable fit is the best part of the shoes. They didn’t have a breaking in period like I have experienced with other shoes. I would highly recommend to anyone looks for comfortable and supportive pair of shoes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Given that I am always on my feet, I was a little apprehensive about wearing trail running shoes to work. I've had positive experiences with the other versions of Brooks shoes and have a lot of faith in them. I used to adore the Caldera 4. After using these shoes for a while, I was really pleased with how my feet felt and how much more energy I had at the end of the shift. This shoe's cushion is excellent, and its stability without motion control and waterproof (GTX) properties are a bonus. It has become my new go-to shoe. It is lightweight, thus making running more comfortable.
This is my second pair of Calderas and I’m not disappointed. Perfect amount of cushion and the stability over the ground is fantastic. Please release a plain black pair as these would make great daily get around trainers.
New to Brooks, but this is the best trail running shoe I've ever used. Soft but responsive and retaining some ground feel . Great traction and durability. Super happy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Caldera 7 trail running shoes provide maximum comfort for long-distance runners with plush cushioning. However, they may feel a bit snug for individuals with wider feet. The sleek design adds a touch of sophistication to your trail adventures, and the easy-clean feature keeps them in pristine condition. The shoelace holder is a thoughtful addition, improving the overall running experience. These shoes are designed to withstand the rigors of trail running while remaining lightweight. Although they may not accommodate a wider fit, they perform best on the trail. Lace-up and take on the world of running with confidence with the Caldera 7.
These were marketed and sold as new but CLEARLY used. They arrived in no original packaging and showed obvious signs of outside wear including both pet hair and A LOT of sock residue on the insoles as well as scuffs on the outside. From talking to chat support and the manager of my local store, there is supposed to be a process if gear is purchased, used, and returned to label and price it as such. Buying new shoes and seeing someone else's sock residue is pretty gross! I'll never shop at REI again because of this transaction. I'll buy direct from manufacturers for all products and you should too. Everything on this website can be bought direct from the manufacturers and then the brands you love would make more money too.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Brooks trail running shoes are the best on the market.

I’ve worn them while running on different types of terrain as well as in the gym and they do not disappoint! They have a nice and roomy feel while helping to keep me balanced and ready for anything. They have an incredible grip for all types of exercises and they’re so stylish that I’m able to wear them casually too. The insoles are very comfortable for every day wear and the widened base keep me nice and stable. I have nothing to worry about when wearing my Caldera 7 shoes!
