One Tough Comfortable Shoe!
This is my 4th pair of these shoes. They are probably the toughest shoes I've owned. I use them daily from shovling snow to mowing the lawn. I use them for hiking, fishing for whatever the day holds. Sure the leather might have a few scars in them from different things. The first thing to wear out on mine are the Vibram soles. The rubber on the toe might separate after a few years. Mine have been submerged and dried out and just keep going. These shoes have to be one of the toughest shoes on the market. I'm a customer for life.
Seems to fit tighter than normal
As always, the quality of Merrell shoes is great. I like the waterproof material and look of the shoe. This shoe replaced my old Merrell World Legend Moc shoe, which was discontinued until recently. This shoe appears to have a much tighter fit than I'm used to from Merrell. I typically don't need wide width shoes, but should have gotten it for this shoe. It's also much tighter at the top of the foot near the elastic, which I assume will loosen and become more comfortable over time. I wear thin athletic socks and it's tight with them. You certainly could not wear wool or thicker winter socks with this shoe without sizing up.
Just as comfortable as my cowboy boots
First of all, I was elated to discover "Wolverine" makes these shoes. I am originally from Michigan. Wolverine shoes and boots are made just North of my hometown of Grand Rapids in Rockford. I have been purchasing wolverine boots and shoes for over 50 years!! I have lived in New Mexico for over 40 years, 20 years of that in the Air Force. I AM A COWBOY BOOT LOVER, worn out many! I put these on and I feel like I am wearing my cowboy boots! Amazingly they are that comfortable. No Regrets! Best slip on shoes I have ever worn and I have worn many. I have these and the Jungle Moc 2 in suede.
No Break-in Period needed for Merrell Moabs!
My husband loved these shoes the moment he first put them on! He said he never felt this comfortable, right from the start!
Excellent shoes--except for the lining
I'm deep into my second pair of Moabs. In most respects they are excellent--comfort, looks, versatility--good for day hiking, nice enough for any casual dress affair. But I am dinging them because of the linings. Even though there is plenty of tread left on the heels (the soles are hardly worn), and the uppers are still presentable, the lining at the heel is worn through to the outer layer. An otherwise good shoe, which ought to last another year, needs to be thrown away.

Nice shoe but the wrap up sole on the toe peeled away rather quickly.
These are not the same AdventureMocs of years past
Unfortunately, as Alex from NY noted, these are not the same adventure Mocs of years past. I've purchased the shoes for well over a decade and they are (well were) my favorite shoe for daily wear. I'm honestly heartbroken that there's been a production change of some kind. I tried two pairs of the new Adventure Mocs and the sole on both felt very stiff and unforgiving. If you are new to Merrell, you'll have no idea how much better the previous generations were. I hope Merrell will address this issue. Really disappointed.
Handy slip-ons!
I use these constantly - just to slip on and take the dog out, or to wear out to dinner. I wear sandals much of the year, but this time of year needs the closed toe. Runs true to size or a little small. 10 bought a 10 (43) some years ago - too small. The 10.5 (44.5) fits just right with or without socks.
