I liked these trail runners, I wore them for a run on some dusty socal fine gravel/dirt. I can't wait to try them on more technical terrain but they felt very secure on the shifty surface I tried them on. They fit TTS, maybe a touch long compared to other trail runners/shoes of the same size but fit close to my foot length wise, maybe others will find them a bit on the narrow side. They are very lightweight and I found them to be breathable, which is good because my feet get pretty hot and sweaty when I run. I did not encounter any substantial dirt or dust getting into the shoes though. They have a pretty pronounced curved rocker which I do like for running, but that means I probably wouldn't wear these as "the trail runners that I regularly hike or backpack in" and would use these exclusively for running. The soles felt more cushy than my other trail runners and sometimes I feel like I can feel the lugs on some of my other shoes, but that wasn't the case with these.
Very comfortable, well cushioned sole, that makes my foot plant strike spot on! My initial impression was the heel was rather elevated, but it quickly felt natural. When running, you do not land on the very end of the heel, but a little bit up and I then naturally rolled towards the front. I LOVE that the tongue has 2 anchor slots for the laces to string through. Absolutely NO movement of the tongue! There is a higher than normal heel tab which helps you pull your shoe on. I was worried that it might rub when wearing low cut socks but not a problem as it’s very soft and flexible. Good grip on a variety of surfaces especially in the rain. No slipping on slick roads or muddy paths. After an hour run in the rain, my socks were dry. I normally wear a size 7, have a high instep and wide toe box. The size 7 wide fit perfect. Couple shout outs for minor but important to me: 1) the black/gray color is awesome as usually only men get the dark colors 2) Shoelaces are a perfect length! Long enough to double knot with a little leftover!! Overall look is perfect for me. It has a low profile as it does not shout out “look at me”! My very first running shoes around 1980 were Adidas Marathon Trainers. Not many choices in running shoes back then and definitely not very comfortable. How shoes have changed since then. I’m looking forward to logging lots of miles with my new shoes!!
These are my first pair of Addias shoes, ever. The shoes are comfortable with a good fit. However, they're not durable. The lace eyelets started to frey after a month of use. The toe box is now separating after 4+ months of use. The price of the shoe certainly does not meet quality expectations. I doubt I will buy Addias again.
These Adidas Terrex Soulstride Ultra are extremely well cushioned and enable you to traverse the terrain. The shoes feel like they have a built in rocker to gently propel you over the next hill (or pile of dirt) without feeling any rocks or tree roots under your feet. The toe are is reinforced and the upper materials seem durable and water resistant. The shoes seemingly run a little large. I normally wear an 8.5 but received an 8 to sample and they still fit ok. I received the black color scheme which easily coordinate with many fitness outfits (if necessary)
Wanted to love this shoe, but my feet are still recovering from them. The platform of the shoe is exactly what I wanted - firm but still forgiving, a lovely feel underfoot, confident and so comfortable. But the uppers dug into my feet, giving me a gnarly bruise. When bending, the end of the laces do a strange dip above the toes and end up digging into them. And the inside of the left shoe had a fold on the stretchy part that hold the tongue in place. After a 6 mile hike, I had a bruise on that side of my upper foot. Tried them again, thinking I hadn’t adjusted the tongue correctly, and it was still there. Returning them.
Shoes are great! Good cushion and ankle support. It has a piece that keeps the tongue on place which is nice. It’s a bit rocky when I first started wearing them but once I got used to it, didn’t even notice.
I normally wear an EU size 38.5 for most of my shoes so I ordered the same size for these. The length was ok but the front was too narrow. I normally walk for 5-7 miles when I out to walk on a trail. Started the second time, I sprained my ankles 5-6 times each time when I wore these shoes and stepped on a rock or a tree root. I'm not sure if it's because of they are too tight or because of the insole of the shoes is too soft. I think they are not good for people with unstable ankles. Also sizing it up for a half size would fit you better if your feet are not the narrow type. The quality looks alright.
These shoes surprised me! I’m a devoted Altra fan for my wide feet. These actually had all of the roomy space in the toe box. Foot felt secure all around. The bottoms were good for grip. I wore them on the colorado front range in light snow with no issues. Nice lightweight.
I've been running trails for many many years but have long been on the hunt for the perfect shoes. In recent years I've found that my feet are requiring a little more cushion so I thought these might be the key. Unfortunately no! I don't really understand these. Tons of heal cushion, BUT the design pushes you onto your toes where there is very little cushion! I can feel the floor on the balls of my feet and that's just walking in them in the house. Furthermore the rocker design makes them feel pretty unstable and I for one want a stable platform for agile footing on the trail.
I’ve got totally different item and can’t return it now due to being in other country Also I can’t chat support here and totally don’t understand what should I do
