Nice weight pants

When i pulled them out of the bag i loved them. Quite substantial weight and waistline was good. Once i put them on though, trouble. I liked the length and how they felt on but there was some serious bunching in the crotch area that could not be smoothed out. There was room for 2 male “organs”, one on each side. I can’t imagine why they would make pants like this, who they were considering when they made them. When i returned them to the store, the clerk picked them up and she agreed with me. She even looked to see if they were in men’s sizing but they were not. Even so, what man has 2 male organs? I guess that is why they were on sale. Too bad. They were such nice pants. I wear a 10 or 12 in pants and this medium would have been a perfect fit had there been no bunching in the crotch area.

Thank you for providing options, great pants for me!

These are described as Low Rise. In today's world of everything being High Rise, I am so appreciative to find something low rise. You see, I am short and have a short torso, and for me low rise is mid rise and fits perfectly. Also, I am apple shape so this fit is perfect for my shape. The waist and hips fit well. I wish the legs were slimmer and the length shorter but I am keeping these and hope the company produces more clothing for diverse shapes and sizes. If you are a pear shape, or have a tiny waist, these probably wont work for you, but apples out there, buy these! Also, these are base layer but I plan on wearing these getting errands, walks, etcc.

Problem with pattern or material cut

There must have been an error during the manufacturing process of these pants. There are weird pockets or bulges of fabric on the inner pant thighs. Too bad because the material is superior of quality and very warm. Seams, zippers etc seem well made. Try again Smartwool!

Steelhead fishing

Purchased for wife. She had similar pair in xs. Wanted a size small. Not sure if they were mislabeled or just really big. Wife is 5’9” and 120 lbs and these were way too big so had to return. Love the brand.

I love these pants . . . but agree that the fit is awkward

I LOVE these pants --they are really warm and the cut is super cute and stylish and a go-to "lounge" pant for relaxing around the house or running errands. The fit is a bit weird though. I wear an XS or S in the 250 base layer bottoms and wanted these to not fit too tight, so I ordered a S. The small is still quite tight through the legs but massive at the waist, and as a previous reviewer stated, pretty low cut. I appreciate the low cut, but find it difficult to tie the drawstring tight enough so I don't feel like I'm losing my pants. And if I DON'T tie the drawstring -- forget it. These pants are falling down.

I need a pair of these for every day of the week!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I need a pair of these for every day of the week! They are so incredibly comfortable, fit perfectly, and are warm enough for these chilly California winter days, which is why I bought them. If I still lived on the East Coast, I'd likely throw another base layer on underneath to keep the wind out, but here in CA where a "low" is about 40 degrees, they are perfect. At 5'4" and 150lbs, the inseam length of a Medium is just right, and the waistband doesn't dig, roll or give me any discomfort - just the opposite! Super comfy! I can't really say enough how pleasantly surprised and pleased I am with these pants - I only wish there were more color choices! I do worry a little that they may pill over time, and that will be a great disappointment if they do. for now, though, I am in love!

Odd fit

As mentioned previously, the crotch area is problematic. Theres excess fabric so there’s a vertical fold in the area. Can’t smooth it out, pulling the pants down or up doesn’t fix it. Would love it if that area could be fixed, good weight and all around fit is not too tight.

Makes a great mid layer

I'm 5'3", 130 lbs and ordered a M. I could probably do a small, but I was afraid they'd be too restrictive. While this pant is apparently intended as a base layer, it also works great as a mid layer! My usual size doesn't have a skin tight feel and there room in the waist, so I layered them over a base layer and under my snow pants on a single digit day on slopes - I was so glad I did! The extra no-bulk warmth was perfect. Alone they make for a great thick base layer or lounge pant.

I bought the same style in 2022, and I love them. This year, I bought another pair, and they are much shorter comparing with first pant. Unfortunately I have to return them.
