Great w/ A Few Big Drawbacks
Was super excited about this product, saved up for it, and am unfortunately a bit disappointed given the cost. Here are the main drawbacks I've discovered: (1) the blue pull-tabs for the zipper fell off & disappeared after the 2nd week, I've attached ribbon instead that has held on since (2) the fabric stains really easily, though washing with mild soap + a good scrubbing with a hand towel will take them out, but only temporarily strangely enough - same stains keep reappearing (3) there's a tear ~1\4" long in the solid fabric already (4) the hydration packs have a super strong plastic odor and taste that hasn't gone away with multiple cleanings in a variety of methods, EG: hydration pack cleaning tablets, vinegar + baking soda, & diluted bleach. For activity reference, my dog walks ~1-2hrs/day, rolls around in grass & especially snow, and gets out for a hike 1-2/week. Would love to love this harness, but I think a few updates are required 1st. Oh well.
Lightweight
I have an embarrassing amount of ruffwear products for my dog, who is a 55# staffy mix. So far, this one is our favorite for most things. He can’t back out of the harness (like he could with the OG front range) and it’s much lighter than the front range pack for trail runs, less technical hikes, or when we’re in a swampy area. The green is also good for visibility.
Great vest but needs tweeks
Water bladders difficult to close and openings too large. Zipper pulls too short. It fits well and doesn’t chafe. Doesn’t slow my dog down at alll.
