Tandoori Orange Is Not Really Orange
I wanted the Tandoori Orange version of this hat because in the picture on the website it looks like it might be a bright enough orange to be visible at a distance. I don't know how to describe the color of the hat I got. It seems to me more red than orange. At any rate, it's completely useless as a safety device if you want to be seen at a distance. So don't buy the orange hat for that reason. Or even because you like the shade of orange depicted on the website.
For small noggins in warmer winter areas
Runs very small. I'm a 5ft tall gal with short hair and this beanie is extremely small. Pros: very soft material, soft seems and stitching, seems warms enough in cool weather Cons: thin material, doesn't cover my ears, slides up the side of my head
Lightweight, moderately warm, attrative beanie
A lightweight, moderately warm beanie that is perfect as a liner for a cycling helmet! I ordered the Deep Burgundy, an attractive color. The 50/50 merino wool and acrylic blend makes for a lightweight but strong knit with a smooth sheen. The beanie fits without bulk under a cycling helmet for fall, winter, and spring cycling. One may roll a cuff on the edge, but I prefer the beanie without a cuff so it fully covers my head. Works well as lightweight layer for hiking/backpacking, too!
fine gauge, lightweight
This is a very fine-gauge, lightweight knit that I don't find super useful. One size, which is biggish on me, and requires more folding up of the rim than the medium-weight knit from the same brand. That adjustment can get annoying. It doesn't have the warmth I associate with wool. YMMV. Colors are decent though.
