Dream binding!

I feel like I didn’t understand the difference a binding can make for me as a skier until I stepped into the Stryve. The power transfer and angle that your boot sits are just perfect. I get a lot of feedback from the ski with this binding but never too much or in a bad way, it makes me feel much more in touch with conditions under foot. Never had them release when I didn’t want them too. So good!

So light its ridiculous

Salomon's new Strive 14 din binding is a game changer! The comfort of the STH down hill binding, in a new extremely lightweight package. To be honest with you, I dont not have any other binding companies to compare the Strive binding to because I have only skied salomon bingings since the 90s. But this new binding from Salomon is a giant leap from the sth bindings of yester year. The new Strive has a streamlined lower profile on the ski, and its light, super light. When I first picked up the box I thought it was just one binding, they are that much lighter in weight. Salomon's trusted bindling in an all new and improved package, sign me up!

Ok, but flawed for hardpack.

I wanted to love these bindings, but I think they caused a crash I had yesterday. After 15days without issue, I skied hard packed groomed on my 102 wide stances. If a binding flexes, it can cause chatter. I was chattering like crazy. When I got home I realized that the self adjusting toe on the Strive 14 has a ridiculous amount of flexibility (which is bad). I wouldn’t worry about it for lighter or less aggressive skiers. I’m 205 and have been skiing all my life. I didn’t have any problems on soft snow, but carving hard on midfats was pretty horrible. https://youtube.com/shorts/A017bC09kgw?si=axuHhBo3CBWCiQhZ

Photo color is incredibly off.

I haven't skied these yet, so I can't speak to their quality (I am a Salomon junkie though, so I assume they will be great). Just want to let people know the colors are not at all what they look like in the photo. If you are trying to match these to skis or boots, it's good to have an accurate idea of what they actually look like. The blue is considerably more silver and less saturated, and the orange isn't nearly as vivid as in the listing photos.

A low profile binding that shines

I got my Strive 14 GW bindings with the QST 106 skis. After being on the Warden bindings for years, which I really liked for their "beefyness" I was curious to see how this low profile binding would hold up in comparison. Well, it was a very pleasant surprise. I didn't realize how much I would appreciate the design of this binding, making it feel like the response to the ski is significantly improved, and feeling very secure in it. The Bravo Salomon!

Nothing Exciting - like it should be

There's nothing exciting to report about these bindings. Which is as it should be. They do their job and you don't notice them. I will say that it may be slightly harder to clip into the heel than with the Warden or STH heel - but barely noticeable. As described, here's a picture of them releasing when they were supposed to.

The New Standard for Alpine Bindings!

The new Strive 14 is everything I could ever ask for in a binding. It's light weight, it has a strong 14 DIN max range and easily accepts both my Grip Walk and DIN soled ski boots. There's no fussing with extra adjustments or settings, simply get you DIN right and your forward pressure dialed and you're ready to shred!

Solid

The Salomon Strive 16 binding has been everything I could have hoped for and more. As an aggressive skier, I place a lot of trust in my bindings. Knowing that my binding will stay solid while hucking cliffs or ripping fast race turns gives me the confidence I need to push my skiing to extreme levels. Knowing that it will release at just the right moment gives me the feeling of security and safety that this piece of equipment does its job to prevent serious injuries. On the slopes and on the certified torque tester in the shop, these bindings do not fail.

Salomon Strive GW Ski Bindings 100mm Copen Blue

Not happy with them! Safety movable plastic plates AFD prone to jam outside or inside the skis, during turn. 2023 Bindings mounted professionally by Salomon service on Stoeckli Stormrider 95 skis. AFD re-greased twice by two different services with binding grease, no improvement. Overlapping stuck plates can lead to accident and injury. Looking for recall or replacement both toe pieces. Other Salomon ski bindings I owned like STH and Warden always worked flawlessly. Can provide photo or video clip if requested.

Game Changer!

Once again Salomon has set the standard for others to follow! As expected the performance and retention of this new gripper is amazing! First day out was a bowl opener with the new Strive paired up on a 194 Blank! First run/turn I had all the confidence to charge all day long!
