Worked when I needed it
After sailing over my handlebars and onto the pavement while traveling over 20mph and I am still able to write this review. The helmet did its job and prevented a head injury. I don't recommend anyone else give it as thorough testing as I did. It should be noted that the crash guarantee offered by Trek can only be processed by Trek and not REI. I was able to show my REI receipt at the Trek store and they warrantied helmet. Please ignore grammatical and spelling errors because I sucked at writing before I crashed my bike.

Poor quality parts, broke in a couple months
The tensioner for tightening and loosening the helmet broke within a few months of owning the helmet. It still tightens but doesnt allow me to loosen the helmet, making it useless. Otherwise, fit was okay.

Saved my head + very comfortable

Saved me when I hit my head in a crash and had EMS called. The technology did exactly what it advertised to do (i.e., collapse in on itself. Pictures provided). In addition to top notch safety, also very comfortable, accommodates my sunglasses with no awkward sensations, and the tightening notch in the back allows you to fit the helmet exactly to your head size. This will be my mainstay helmet for the foreseeable future.

Good brain bucket – does what it's supposed to

I'm generally pretty agnostic about helmets, but the helmet did its job today when I crashed.

Brain bucket.

Great helmet bought new one to replace one I had on when I fell over my bike. It did its job protecting my head as I’m able to write this review.

Perfect for a fat head

My XL helmet fits perfectly. I have a very large head and could never find something that fits when renting bikes and scooters. Overjoyed to now have a helmet of my own that fits comfortably and looks cool to boot.

Good quality helmet

This is a good quality helmet at an affordable price. It provides good ventilation on hot days, but easily expands to accommodate a cap on colder days. The collapsible structure seems like it would provide good protection when needed (luckily I have not the opportunity to test this!). Overall a good fit that is easy to adjust. I like the grey color I chose, too.

Secure and comfortable helmet

I feel safe and secure wearing this helmet. The interior construction supports my small head ( most helmets are too big for me). I’m finding that new plastic pinch clips are difficult for my arthritic fingers, I struggle when trying to remove the helmet in a cool morning, the plastic clip is too stiff.

no visor or brin

It’s a nice helmet. I would buy it again but for 115$ can’t they include the visor/brim? I’m ordering it from a different site because I can’t find it on REI’s website.
