Great ride.

Tubeless setup was a breeze on my own. The 28mm is my preferred setup considering my rough roads which makes a difference over the 25mm. I’ve only tested these out in dry conditions and extreme heat 105F (in the shade). No issues and they hold up great. 600 miles in so far. Based on tire wear and my rough roads I’ll maybe get 1000 miles (on clean roads should get way more easily). 2 punctures both sealed (muc-off) right away. They’re good for descending but not the best I’ve used. For flat areas with some climbs they’re perfect for my use.

Left me feeling deflated
Justin S

The Continental 5000 GP S TR tires left me feeling deflated. I decided to switch from Panaracer GravelKings because, though I dream of epic gravel adventures, I mostly ride the mean roads of my city. I thought that a road specific tire might last longer and roll faster, but I didn’t want to give up on tubeless tires and the confidence that goathead thorns weren’t going to ruin my Sunday morning fun. I shelled over the inflated price of $103 per tire and had them professionally installed on my DT Swiss 1600 PR rims at my local bike store. Yeah, they look cool, but I soon realized that I needed to pump them up at least every other day. They leak 20 psi every 48 hours. Not a deal breaker, but definitely annoying. What made me rotate my thinking that these were not a good purchase was going down hills. When I point my bike downhill and start to pick up speed, I get the very spooky feeling that my front tire is about to slide out from under me. I’ve tried adjusting my psi, but the sensation persists. I now go down hills with my hands firmly on my breaks. I never had that feeling with any other tire I’ve ridden. The latest blow is a flat that left a 1 cm gash in my rear tire –bad luck that can happen to any tire, I know, but now I’ll need an innertube and there goes the advantage of tubeless tires. My 2 cents: There are much better tires at a better price out there. Keep looking.

Disappointing Life Span

They're fast rolling tires and easy to handle. I put about 2000 miles on them over a few months, and they both blew up on me on a ride today, sidewall tears so not repairable. Looking at them, I would think they should have a good amount of life left so I'm a little disappointed that I got less than a year of use out of them. I've put closer to 4000 miles on cheaper tires that rode just as fast.

Best All-Rounder

I picked up the 32mm, and it was the smoothest, best performing ride I’d ever experienced on any terrain I attempted Worked well off road on some gravelly-trails and amazing on tarmac. You can actual feel the difference when you are cranking on the pedals. Very smooth - and sealed with ease when I had a couple different minor punctures. Absolutely worth the in money.

Amazing tire with some shortfalls

Excellent tire. Extremely fast rolling, and very supple. Grip is very, very good both in the dry and the wet. Puncture resistance is ok in the dry - unfortunately in the wet they will pick up dirt/debris which may then puncture the tire. This has happened to me on three different sets of- 28mm and two 32mm. The price is also off putting - almost $100 for a tire that will last anywhere from 1k to 5k miles depending on conditions you ride in. Nonetheless I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a fast, grippy, supple tire.

Smooth, Easy-to-install Tubeless Road Tire

I had a really good experience with the previous model (GP 5000 TL) in a 28mm on my Cannondale Topstone gravel bike, mounted on a DT Swiss CR 1600 Spline road wheelset. I'd been waiting for REI to stock the updated version, in a 32 mm, but figured I'd go ahead and try the 700 x 30mm as soon as they showed in stock. The GP 5000 S TR mount even a bit easier than the previous mode and form a very strong / secure seal. Setting up for tubeless was quick and painless, and after a couple hundred miles on them I'm very happy.

personal best

Bought to use instead of my gravel tires on my second try at an Ironman 70.3 with a steep climb in the middle. In addition to increased training, these tires helped me shave 40 minutes off my bike leg time. Very fast tires.

Best All Around Tires for the road

These are the best all around bike tire on the market. Low rolling resistance and weight with out sacrificing too much puncture protection. Definitely easier to mount than previous conti tubeless tires. Tan wall always looks good too :)
