Thin, wool blend, soft BASE LAYER Or exercise top
Wool fan

This is a thinner, wool blend fabric that resembles a thin, silky polyester fabric but is made half with wool and half with something called Lyocell (?).Together, the blend is pleasant to the touch, thin (thinner than pure merino), but still a warm-ish base layer. It's thinner/lighter than for example the icebreaker 180 fabric. The Ultralight fabric is very wearable and wicks sweat. I wear it as a base layer under a cashmere sweater and stay warm and cozy. I also use it as sleepwear, keeps me both a bit warm but cool, if that makes sense. Lightweight and THIN. I really like it as an addition to my existing smartwool and icebreaker wool layers. For me this item ran a bit large, so I ordered the SMALL, which was loose fitting until I washed/dried it in hot water. Now it fits well but still expands around curves. I am 5'3, 135 lbs, 36DD petite but busty, and the Small fits great (with plenty of room in the chest). My stomping grounds are Northeast and Midwest winters. Wearing this item now indoors on a cold night - feel cozy. Wear it under a sweater then layer with a puffy down jacket to go outstide in 30 degrees - feel cozy. I use the hood as a base layer under a wool hat... but this is NOT outerwear type hoodie. It's only called a hoodie because it has a hood made of this THIN material, that you can use as a BASE LAYER. Material is stretch, soft and thin, with 50 percent wool.

I love the look and feel of this shirt. It’s a versatile light layer that has a nice longer hem. Green color is a deep teal. XS could have worked as its runs slightly big but S fit better above a fitted layer/tank.. However, it is so fragile. I’ve had it about a week and it’s developed several pinholes in the wool. I wash it on delicate. For a $70+ article of clothing it is not durable. I know it is a lightweight layer & won’t be super rugged but I just wore it casually around the house & on an easy bike ride. The search continues sadly; I will be returning.

Nice but stains easily

I want to love this shirt. The pros: It's super lightweight, breathable, very comfortable, and dries quickly. It provides sun protection and is a bit longer in length, which pairs great w/ leggings. I have two complaints, though. 1) be aware it's a bit see-through. This doesn't really bother me. 2) it stains VERY easily. This usually wouldn't bother me, except the stains don't wash out, even after multiple washes/treatments. I have this in light blue and it shows stains very easily. If you don't attract dirt, it would probably be fine. But for multi-day backpacking trips and pack burro racing, it's not ideal.

Lightweight, not durable

Loved the weight as a sun shirt, but SO fragile! I almost want to buy another top because I loved mine-the weight is just so perfect. However, after having this top for about a year, it got damaged in the laundry. a number of pinholes developed throughout. I buy Smartwool because I consider them non-fussy wool layers. This one is definitely fussy and sadly, I can't convince myself to buy another...

Natural fiber sun hoodie

I haven't been able to test out the sun protection yet, but I'm very happy with the fit and weight of this hoodie. This was one of the only sun hoodies I could find that's made out natural fibers and I really appreciate that because I prefer to avoid synthetics.

Great for hot sunny days

Great sun hoodie. Wore it many days to see how it’d smell for long backpacking trips and it held up. Really lightweight and breathable. It’s a bit longer for my body but gave it a flowy feeling which helps cool me down.

Feel good and fragile

this is my 2nd Smartwool sun hoodie. I love the fit, the thin fabric and the temperature regulating quality. One big drawback is the fragility of the fabric. The one I bought a year ago has several runs and pin holes. The one I bought 2 months ago and haven't worn much yet already has a pinhole. For the price this is poor quality, but I can't find any other natural fiber ones.

Fun, stylish and warm

Fits well, fun to wear. Wish it had the small zip pocket the men's top has. Also,.it's fairly thin, so far thats not a problem.

Meh

This fit nice, but it was too see through for me. I didn’t like that I would always need to wear a tank or tee underneath it all the time. It was returned.
