Just ordered these and they are very comfortable. I am transitioning from a pair of Speedgoat 5 and these feel more plush, softer cushion which bodes well with a fused great toe on my left foot. As far as sizing that some have commented on, if you follow some of the information on the shoes (online), you will find that ordering a 1/2 size larger you will get a perfect fit. This generally applies to all Hoka shoes as this is my fourth (4th) pair of Hoka I have purchased. If worse comes to worse......go to REI or another Hoka shoe seller and try the shoes one before you purchase!

Not for tough terrain!

I'll start by saying I love my 2 pairs of Hoka running shoes. I'll also say that these were comfortable. BUT, I wore these for about 7 days in New Hampshire's White Mountains and they didn't hold up. The Vibram soles were good, but the soft foam all around got shredded. I don't know if Vibram made the whole sole or just the dark blue hard part. This shoe would dim their reputation if they made the whole thing. The mesh sides also took a beating. These may be good for your local state park, but don't use them if you are planning to hike on serious rocks. I returned them when I got home. My Keens usually last 2+ years of hiking. These didn't make it 2 weeks.

Excellent Sturdy Hiker.

I have been wearing Hokas for many years. I bought these for Nepal along with boots (Oboz) for higher elevations. I ended up wearing the anacapas at every possible opportunity. They offer better protection than say a Hoka Challenger. They are not as cloud like as most Hokas. They are slower than trail runners. Perfect for a rocky challenging trail where traction, stability, protection, and light weight are foremost. I most always use non waterproof shoes unless its just too cold. That way my feet dry between water crossings. This shoe also looks great in town and worked well tramping around city streets.

Take Hiking out of the shoe title

I like the shoe and wore it for several weeks to break in before taking it to Spain to use on the Camino de Santiago Norte. I purchased the shoe after reading several reviews from various backpacking sources about the use of the shoe as a "trail shoe". I wore this shoe from San Sebastian to Zauratz (26km) and as a result I lost 8 toenails. The shoe was a good fit but the steep inclines and declines with large rocks were to much for the nearly zero protection the shoe provided for toes. I cant see how anyone would regard this shoe as a trail or hiking shoe for most of the hiking or mountain trails in the Appalachias, Rockies or Sierras and certainly not for the Camino. I left the shoes in Zauratz as I didnt see the point of carrying an extra pair of shoes I would never use again walking the Camino.

Great shoes

These low profile hikers have been awesome so far. They are comfortable and I can wear them all day and my feet feel good at the end of the day. I had a bit of a plantar fasciitis flare up and working a week do wearing these on during my activities my pain subsided quite quickly. I got the blue ones and they also look great.

comfortable hiking shoe/ garbage quality control

I've had speedgoat 4"s and 5"s and now these Anacapass. they have all fallen apart almost immediately and have the same issue. the outsole starts peeling off from the heel forward within 30 miles or so. I've given up on them despite how comfortable they are. my new pair of Anacapas haven't even been hiked in! I only wore them as work shoes and still the heel separated within a week.

Seem like pretty good shoes, with tough soles but light on the cushioning. I ordered size 12.5, whereas I often wear 13, but 12.5 is too large, think I need 12.

Comfortable but not durable

Amazing shoe very comfortable. BUT....I've had them for 3 months and the sole is already wearing out. Foam is disintegrating and the harder vibram is already worn thin.I walk in my neighborhood about 10 miles a week. Horrible durability. 5'10 180lbs
