Shaped for a man instead of a woman
Nice vest but it runs small around the hips and broad in the shoulders; designed for a man's body. It seems like so many brands think that they can just change the colors of items and call it women's sizing. It should go without saying that we are shaped differently and deserve to have that applied to our clothing choices. This general failure is especially prevalent in trail and outdoor clothes and backpacks. Returning for a refund.
New style not the same as precious.
I have 2 previous versions of this vest that I have worn a zillion times and love. I wanted this mauve color, but the new style is not great. The arm holes are large and the hips are tight. I have smalls in the two previous versions so figured this size should be the same. It wasn’t. I’m afraid if I got a medium it would fit the hips, but be giant in the chest. So sad I have to return it because the color is lovely.
Great product
Although this vest didn't seem to have much down in it, it is quite warm. Also, I had seen reviews saying that it fit small. But I ordered an xxl as I am 5"7' and weigh 175 pounds. Given the size I can put a sweater on under it. I'm impressed.
Well made
I just received the down vest today, and it is summertime. For obvious reasons I can’t review how it works in the cold! My first impression however is I love it! I got the navy blue in a medium. I am 5’6” and 128 pounds with a thin athletic build. It fits perfectly with sweater underneath . The length is perfect, and it looks really well made and cute. Very happy with it
Happy customer:-)
This vest is warm but not bulky. I am 125 ibs, 5’6” and the medium fit me perfect. Should add that I like layering my clothes in the winter so a little more room for two layers is needed.
Nope.
It's no shade of white. It's yellow. And the material is so thin you can see the feathers inside. Kinda gross.
Used to be great.....not anymore!
This latest update is great except the arm holes are huge! The iteration before this one is awesome...can still find them on sites that sell used....... too bad everything that has attention to details goes by the wayside! Devolving into a mushpile of sameness! I won't purchase these anymore they lool sloppy if your petite!
Great warmth and fit
This vest is everything I wanted. I’m 165lb, small bust, bigger waist, and I ordered the XL. I wear it over wool sweaters and the fit is good. Excellent warmth. I’m not bothered by the cut like some other reviewers. I like having sufficient space under my arms.
Warm and light
I love the warmth of this vest. It's a great layering piece. It has a lot of pockets. The only thing I had trouble with is the fit. I found it tight around my hips so I went up a size. It’s not an ideal fit but the vest is perfect for my needs so I am keeping it.
Wanted to like, but feathers kept coming out
Such a light weight and great concept vest. I really wanted to like this product. I love vests and wear them often, so thought this would be a nice addition to my rotation especially for travel. Upon first try-on, I was almost afraid to zip up the front with such a delicate zipper. I did love the zippers on the hand pockets though so +1 star for that feature. After making it through a few small zipper snags, I looked in a mirror for fit - it was a bit boxy but I could see a sweater or layered long sleeve shirt underneath. Then, to my surprise, feathers started to poke out of the fabric! I wasn't even moving around in front of the mirror. So, I lifted my arms and turned around and more feathers came out. I guess while this is real down, I didn't think that would be something I would want happening while wearing the vest out and about. The last time I owned a Patagonia vest, I took a windy boat ride and trekked across a city with no issues, but thinking about the feathers coming out while staying still, I made the decision to return this product. Hopefully those who are considering purchasing are reading. I encourage you to give this vest a shot and if you are looking to do minimal movement and likely minimal washing (I did not wash the product but can imagine that would not go well for me), then this vest may be for you. As for me, onward with my new vest search! :)
