I just spent 2 nights camping with 4 dogs in this tent in the rain. It was amazingly easy and quick to set up and take down. We stayed warm and dry and had plenty of room.
Bought from Gazelle. Upon setting up, I immediately noticed that every single mesh panel had pulls/snags in it. That night we had about .5” of rain over 4-5 hours. Woke up with water entering on two sides of the tent. The rain fly was installed per instructions and every guy-line was being used. I emailed Gazelle and mentioned the mesh and the water leakage. I was told that the mesh defects are part of their manufacturing process and normal. Due to the leaking however the replaced the tent and had me destroy the old one. Seemed pretty wasteful but I get it. Interestingly, Gazelle customer service did add that the tents are “weather resistant, not weather proof.” I’m not sure what other people are shopping for when they look for a tent, but being weather proof is high on my list of essentials. Took the new one on a two night trip. Same amount of rain and same result. There are two triangular pockets on opposing sides (without the door) that are sewn into the wall of the tent. The seams aren’t sealed, and as a result the thread used for sewing wicks water into the tent. The rain fly doesn’t do an adequate job of covering this area. Waking up with puddles of water on the bottom and soaking pockets/contents of pockets ain’t it. As a result I’ll be returning the second one and looking for something else. Also something to be aware of. The mesh in the roof panels is unprotected. When you colt the tent up, they can come in contact with the exposed metal hubs inside the tent, which I think leads to the pulling/snagging issues the mesh had in both of my tents. That’s just speculation though. The tent is also 5.5” long when stored in its bag. Not the end of the world but something to really think about before buying. I have a Yakima loadwarrior w/ extension and had to finagle it a little to even fit in that. The tent does set up quickly. Compared to my friends with their Marmot 3p tents, we took about the same amount of time when you include the guy-lines. These are also essential as a pretty moderate breeze gives enough force to collapse the hubs for the walls of the tent. Kind of a bummer if you’re inside.
Before I purchase this T4-hub tents i did alot of researching online which is the best tents in the world? and also asked some friends they always telling me buy the one of the kind The Gazzelle tents! So I did ordered it with a great deal, and delivered on time before our family camping trip! this tents is awesome worth of buying my kids love it!
Because this is a hub tent, you have to stake out the sides or the sides can collapse in with strong winds. Not a product flaw. The stakes that come with it are very light duty. They bend when removing from the ground as top is flat and you have to pry them up. Spend the money and order the Serrated Tent Stakes from Gazelle. Best money you've every spent. Will decrease a lot of frustration. Tent is super easy setup and take down. No issues with wind/leaks etc during heavy condensation or rain. I'm 6'1" and can stand up in it without hitting roof. Super awesome purchase for car/truck camping.
This tent is fantastic. I stayed in it for four nights in a mountain top in Pennsylvania last spring and it rained really hard one night. I didn't get a single drop of water inside. I took the rain fly one clear night was able to go to sleep looking at the stars. The hub setup is the same as the Baronett hunting blinds that Ardisam also manufactures so it is fast and easy to setup. It takes longer to stake it than set it up. It has plenty of room for all my gear. I couldn't be more pleased with this high quality tent and highly recommend it.
Very recent purchase, the last weekend gave it a thorough test in a six hour series of severe thunderstorms with constant heavy downpours and high winds. Did not leak one single drop. Overall I love this tent, especially all the windows. This is the most detail oriented designed tent. Well it may take a few more minutes than 90seconds they claimed, but overall it is super easy to set up and super easy to take down and put in tge well constructed storage bag. Zippers alone on the tent made me smile. The concern some had about the removable floor are unfounded. The floor is fully velcroed with no breaks or spaces for bugs. Oh I like this!!!
There is much to love about this tent. As promised, you can set it up alone quite easily and quickly and I love all the windows. The 4 person is large enough for a queen air mattress and 2, maybe 3, camp chairs (we like to read bug free before bed). The door zippers seem a little stiff at times but this was my first time using it. Take down is not so easy alone. Getting the hubs poked back and the whole thing folded enough to put back in the bag was hard and I ended up having to put it back up and take it down. Works best if you just go clockwise and not opposite sides. I hope I'll get a better system with familiarity. The reason it gets a 2 it because of the cheap material. After a 2 night camp on a grassy site with a tarp down (to help insulate) and never wearing shoes inside it still managed to get a hole poked thru the floor where the air mattress was covering. No idea how. The hub pole area is also quite frayed looking. I’ll be shocked if I get more than a couple of years out of it, if that. I was going to add pictures, but the site won’t let me. Sorry.
I was told about Gazelle tents from a family member, I got online to see the tents and found the T4. Ordered it and what i found was everything always wanted in a tent!! So easy to set up (even took it down and my wife set it up by herself ) It is a fantastic tent so easy to set up take down and the removable floor to help with cleaning it up just so cool your tents are again Fantastic!! And when I can i will always recommend Gazelle tents!!
I just took my gazelle t4 hub tent on a week-long fishing trip. We had a thunderstorm with heavy rain and 50 mph plus winds. The tent came out dry and unscathed by the storm.
We went on our first camping trip with our Gazelle T4 hub and had an awesome experience! We were set up in 30 minutes. You would have thought we set it up a hundred times but it was our first. My husband set it up by himself! Had a wonderful time!
