Bag is well made, it's a nice size for a long weekend trip, but the nutria color is not khaki like it looks in the photos, its olive green. Otherwise a great bag--I will probably return it for the black version.

Looks really different in real life vs online
Amy

Just ordered this and received it. I have not used this yet. I do like the functionality. The zippers seem strong. However, it really looks like a different material online than in-person. It’s very plastic and cheap looking in person compared to online and is more of a true black than a greyish black like pictured.

Its a BIG BAG

I have been using this duffle bag for my business trips for the last month and I'm on a plane at least once a week. My main complaint regarding this bag is the division in the middle that is intended for the laptop/tablet/cellphone, keys, and cords; it takes too much space, and when you try to close the bag it's quite tricky. It gives the feeling that you could have added more stuff and it already fills full. Also, the pocket it has for ¨water bottles because it does not have a grip inside, either put a big water bottle of at least 1liter or any size but with a full bag because if not, the bottle will keep falling. On the other side, things I liked, are those divisions help you divide dirty clothes from clean clothes or you can use one of those spaces to carry, documents or something else apart from your clothes, like an extra pair of shoes. The "nutria" color which I feel is olive green is amazing! It's truly water-resistant, I was recently on a trip to Chicago, we had snow and rain and all my stuff was dry! I also enjoy that "vintage" look it gets because of the material it is built. It gives the backpack character. It's really spacious, and it looks like it is way bigger than the carry-on, which tends to give a weird impression. Its a really spacious bag honestly, but would not recommend traveling with it at its full capacity, or at least I don't feel used to it when maneuvering with it. For me it's a solid 7/10. I will continue to use it and hopefully, I can get better use of it, or know how to better take advantage of it.

Almost great

Short version: Haven’t found another bag with the same blend of sharp looks and good features outside of a less versatile Tumi bag, but some quirks - most of the build materials are excellent, the recycled wax canvas holds up nicely and takes wear well - internal organization is pretty good - a little more admin style pockets on the divider would be and improvement. The roll up divide is not intuitive but works well - quick access pocket and bottle are sturdier than they look, but the pocket is on the small side and the horizontal bottle pocket feels less secure - biggest issue is the handles and strap. The material is too thin and almost abrasive to skin. The pads help but don’t make up for it Would buy again for a travel bag, less for a daily gym bag

Made it thru 3 trains

I bought this for a cross-country train ride. It is rugged, made with heavy-duty quality zippers all the way around and long-lasting durable material. This bag traveled crammed full from GA to CA, thru two train major stations and three trains. I ended up checking it when I flew back from CA to GA. This bag went thru baggage check with Delta in CA, changed planes in Utah, and finally ATL. Not a mark on it. This bag is amazing. Handles are well placed for portability, shoulder strap is well padded, and the various pockets are well distributed for the balance of personal belongings. Highly recommend. I wasn't crazy at first about the color, but now I'm glad I got this one and not black. Easy to spot.

Great compartments and lightweight

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this bag. It has several compartments of different sizes with strong easy to open and close zippers. I can keep shoes on one side in a special pocket. It is also very lightweight but very sturdy at the same time. It is very good for packing items for a weekend getaway. The shoulder straps are comfortable. And the hand straps are easy to use as well. My new favorite bag. Most of my other bags are heavier but this one is so light that I love it.

Perfect unless you’ll use the water bottle pocket

The design of this duffel is phenomenal, with one exception: the water bottle pocket is on the top and the laptop/tablet sleeves are in the middle, so if your water bottle ever leaks, it does straight onto your electronics. I bought this as a daily commute bag to hold electronics, gym clothes, and yes, a water bottle. So it doesn’t work for me. However, if you don’t intend to put a water bottle in the top pocket, it’s an incredibly designed bag. The electronics sleeve in the middle provides extra protection. The dividers for the different sections are clever and the snaps to tuck them away work flawlessly. I’ve seen reviews suggesting the material of the waterproof divider is flimsy but it felt very sturdy and durable to me. I would heartily recommend this to anyone who didn’t intend to use the water bottle pocket on top.

Perfect in every way

I'm not sure I've ever been so excited to use a duffel bag. The quality and feel of it is unlike any other bag I've seen. There are a ton of cool features, like the separate zipper compartments, the padding, the blue color on the inside for extra visibility, and the shoulder strap that can also be buttoned in place. Besides it being an extremely attractive, well-built, design, it's completely practical. The water bottle holder is a nice touch along the top too. Seriously hope Thule keeps making more stuff like this.

Great, but not for me

Purchased this in addition to the Thule Aion Spinner in hopes that it would make a nice personal item. The bag itself is beautiful, well-designed, and seemingly very durable. The little zippered pouch on top seems so handy! I'd previously used a duffle-style bag as my personal item in the past (was always sort of a tight squeeze, but we managed!). This guy's just too chonky when packed to even hope to squeeze by, not a fault of the bag - more on my blind optimism. The trolley strap holds well & the bag sits nicely atop the spinner and stays put (even as top heavy as it was). I'll be returning it as I can't rationalize keeping it on hand for the off chance I'll need only a duffle bag in the future. The nutria color is beautiful & I'm sad I won't get to see it age. Enjoy it!

My new "go-to" weekend duffle

I love this duffle bag. It looks 20 years old (waxed cotton) but has a modern, interior design....just took it out to Yellowstone for 6 days & it was perfect. The middle laptop sleeve will allow me to ditch my laptop backpack. My iPad & chargers fit also... I also like the 2 separate compartments to separate gym clothes or shoes from everything else. Super clever design. I've never known about Thule luggage but it's on my radar now!

All the 5 star reviews are correct...

This bag is great. It has so many pockets and features on the inside, and it's perfect for weekend air/car/train travel. I love that the hand straps just long enough to comfortably slip over my shoulder, so personally I don't use the included shoulder strap. The bag is not only stylish, but sturdy as well, and will stand up to years of use.
