Great old-skool gshock. Extremely lite weight and a great taper on the band. I have 6 other gshocks and this is definitely my favorite.

Poor display, I returned mine

I bought a 5610 and returned it. The display was difficult to read at even a slight angle, I had to be viewing it almost straight on. I have added a photo from REI's own website that will give you an idea of what I mean. The solar charging and atomic timekeeping are nice features, and I love the classic styling, but they don't make up for the display. My W86 and AE1200 are much more pleasant to look at and are easier to read at a glance. Even my F91 for that matter. They keep excellent time and I don't worry about watch batteries that last for years. I realize they aren't G-Shocks. At around $150 I would rather buy several other budget Casios and have a small collection. One could easily get 3-5 watches for the same price.

The only watch you'll ever need

I understand buying expensive watches for fashion, as symbols of status, or for the love of high horology. As a functional tool, however, you can buy no finer watch than the G-Shock 5610. It never needs a new battery. In most of the northern hemisphere, you will never have to set the time and it will match the atomic clock's time exactly. It has every time zone on Earth. It can measure time down to the hundredth of a second. It has a light. If you want a watch that can do everything that a $100,000 Swiss timepiece can and more in a much less elegant and much more rugged form, then buy this watch.

Fantastic alternative to smart watches.

Great watch, nice feature set, comfortable to wear. Have had no issues wearing in in cold weather this winter. Very happy I finally bought this watch. Favorite thing is that it's just a watch. No apps to manage, no nightly recharge. Just a watch with all the basic features you need.

Best Watch Ever!

My 16 yr old loves this watch! He wears it more than his Apple watch now. I bought it for a one week level 4 whitewater rafting trip he went on in remote Utah. The watch withstood all of the outdoor elements from extensive water, heat, sand, and wind. It looks just like new. The solar charging is wonderful! It gives him everything he needs in a watch and is very functional. I highly recommend it.

Perfect for indoor and outdoor conditions

This watch can handle rigorous outdoor activities and conditions as well as everyday tasks. The atomic timekeeping auto syncs nightly, the display is clean and functional, the world time function is useful for traveling. I have put it through the paces and it still functions perfectly. And solar charging!

Recommend and would buy again.

I haven't used it yet. I bought it because I got a good deal on it, it's thin, it's solar, it doesn't have functions I don't use, and my current G-shock pathfinder solar watch is malfunctioning. It's been worn 24/7/365, in all conditions. It's gotten beaten up pretty well over the years. Currently, my Pathfinder is randomly flipping functions making it difficult to read the time especially when riding my bicycle.

Small display

Returned the watch due mainly because of the size of the display. It was small for me to see. Bought another Casio G-Shock from REI.
