Great camp shoe for bumming around on cold nights
The REI Co-op Camp Dreamer is a wonderful semi-open backed clog for car camping or any activity where it's cold and hanging out is the name of the game. It's worth noting that the small loop on top is for hanging the shoes and does not actually tighten them. Pros: - Super comfortable - Keeps feet warm in cool / wet weather - Good grip on the soles (walked down a river bank with no issues) Cons: - A bit heavy (wouldn't take them backpacking) - Heel occasionally slips out when walking Bottom line - this is a great camp shoe and your friends wearing tennis shoes or flip flops will be jealous on cold nights around the fire.
My new favorite camp shoes!
The moment I slipped these on my feet felt like they were floating on water. They are so comfortable I could wear them every day. I used them around camp and they got a little dusty but they are easy to wipe clean. There is so much cushion that my feet didn’t feel achy like they usually do with other slip-on’s. My feet stayed warm in the evening which is a huge plus. The sole is thick enough that you can walk around and not worry about destroying the bottom. These definitely will be coming with me on all my vacations.
Perfect for Light Use!
Wanted something to quickly slip on when taking the dog out first thing in the morning. These are beyond perfect for that purpose! Keep my feet warm, dry, and supported on the deck and in the yard -- I've even walked around the block in them a time or two and they feel very stable. They'll be great for wearing around camp after a day of hiking and exploring, though I haven't used them for that purpose yet. For the record, I have an extremely narrow heel and it's tough to find slip-ons that I feel secure in and that will stay on. While these definitely are not narrow, there is something about the construction that makes these a good choice for me. VERY satisfied with this product!
After 9 months of wearing these every day...happy!
I've been wearing these for 9 months now, around the house, outside the house, and tent-camping in dusty, sandy, and wet-grassy places. Very durable, non slip. I haven't needed to wash them yet, because any dirt just shakes off. Comfortable, with a high quality removable insole, with thick cushioning and arch support. (I was thinking I might replace it with my orthotic insoles, but the ones it came with do the job for me.) My feet love them. True to size, but if you're undecided, order larger so your fat socks will fit well. I forget I'm wearing them, and then find myself doing errands downtown, still wearing my slippers. The dark grey ones really can be worn anywhere.
Walkin in the Clouds
OMG y’all! I just got these and I am already in love! I wanted something to replace my fleece lined crocs, and these are the BOMB! The sole and instep are so supportive that it feels like walking on a cloud! They’re warm and stay on my feet well. (Note: they aren’t fleece lined, but that makes for more breathe-ability. I wear a women’s 9.5 and ordered a 10. Perfect fit. Pros: comfy, washable, made with eco-friendly and recycled materials, good grip on sole. Cons: opening feels tight at first but stretches to form to foot, they aren’t the most fashionable (but imma wear them everywhere lol)
Good heavy duty cold weather camp shoe
I have an older pair of TEVA Ember Mocs that I have compared the REI Dreamer Slip-Ons to. Although the Ember Moc is warm, I think the Dreamer Slip-On manages to keep my feet warmer without socks and they don't tend to make my feet as sweaty. The Dreamer wins from a rugged outdoor shoe perspective as well. The thicker and slightly more aggressive sole would allow for easy use at a muddy, icy, or gravel laden campsite. The Ember Moc wins when it comes to weight but if you do a lot of car camping then it is a non issue. Neither make good backpacking camp shoes. As I get older, I tend to always wear shoes inside because I like the support and comfort that a shoe offers and the Dreamer will perform well in this capacity as well. These are solid 3 season slip-ons.
Wanted to love this
I usually wear a 6-6.5 W's shoe. I tried on the 4 (W's 6) and it was a little small. I bought the 5 (W's 7). It was the correct length overall, but the slipper was too small. That's because the back of the slipper was too tall & angles forward a lot. This pushed my foot forward into the slipper and my toes against the front. I wish the back was shorter and softer. You cannot slip the slipper on without using your hand to pull the back over your heal. Also, the cord detail has no purpose and just gets in the way. Sad about the fit, because the fabric and sole is so comfy and would be great around the house or at the campsite.
Pillows for your feet!
Great pair of slip-ons! These are more than just camp shoes. Easy on and off makes them a great choice for camping, but these have become a "go to" around the house as well. Well made product, what you would expect with the REI logo. A low cut heel makes it easy on and off, but gives more of a shoe fit and none of the feel that comes with slip on or slides. The upper is pillow like soft, with a well made sole that has just enough grip. These feel great on your feet. Did find them to run somewhat small for my feet. I wear with no or thin socks and it is not an issue. You may want to go a half size larger if you like a thick sock. If you spend your day in boots, are on your feet all day, or have spent a hard day on a trail, your feet will love these! They are perfect in a camp setting, but don't put them away when you get home. Your feet will love you for it.
Best house shoes ever!
I WFH full time now. These are standard daily workwear for me now. Best slippers I have ever owned!
Crazy Comfortable
Great slip-ons for the camp-site, home, and travel. The fabrics are soft on both the top and bottom of the feet with good walking support in the sole. The sole is more robust and adds a decent amount of more weight then expected which may be a drawback for a long pack trip but weekend getaways and travel not a problem. I wore them with and without socks and it changed the fit just enough to mention the difference. Bare feet: soft, comfortable, warm...however, my heel would slip out. Sock feet: depending on the sock material - temps were warm and cool and my heal did not slip. For me, they will join me in cooler weather adventures.
