I bought this for a weekend of car camping in the back of my Prius when the weather got down to low 30s at night. I paired it with the Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Ultra Sleeping Pad and I was surprisingly comfy! (In hindsight, would recommend getting the wider version of the sleeping pad. It worked, but this sleeping bag was bigger than the pad and had a slight tendency to slide off due to the slick nature of both. I was still in place when I woke up even though I toss and turn, so it wasn't too bad, just a thought.) Despite the 30 degree temps outside, I woke up warm in this sleeping bag (I wore joggers, a crewneck sweatshirt, and socks inside of it - but probably could have gone lighter on the layers.)
Perfect for car camping. Very comfortable for casual nights in a tent. My cat liked it better than the box it came in too.
Great quality for the price, easy to toss in the back of the car. The zipper snags which is frustrating especially if you need to get in and out in the middle of the night and you're tired and it's dark. I sleep very cold, this was very comfortable and kept me plenty warm on a 40-50F rainy night while wearing a light baselayer. The zipper goes both ways and was nice to be able to open up just the bottom on a warmer night. Unfortunately at 5'9" I can't get all the way down to keep my head covered unless I curl up. I will be be returning to get a different product with a hood or a tall size, and also because of the zipper annoyance.
Comfy & warm. Used in a "camping cabin" (eg, wood shack with no insulation or covered windows) on a night that got down to mid 30s. I was comfortable! I'm only 5'1" so the length was fine for me. The only reason I knocked off a star the rating is there's no strap or cinch to help fold it down for re-packing. As I only used it once it was still "crisp" & easy to re-fold along the original lines, then cram back into the bag, but over time or a few washes it may be less easy to fold. Definitely bulky compared to down bags so if weight & bulk are a concern for carrying, look elsewhere. Good enough for vehicle transport!
This is a great bag. I got it in the sale section of the store and what a great buy. Used on a two week camping trip in June and it was perfect. Mostly slept on top of the bag as it was warm enough with just a sheet. Is a bit slippery and hard to stay in place at times but a great overall. I love the color too. I got the Reflecting Pond version.
Purchased the green bag in regular to use car camping with the dog. I needed a budget friendly rectangular bag that I could use opened as a quilt on his bed or zipped for to snuggle in. The length and color as noted in the description and photo are correct but the fabric makes a crinkly sound when you move it. It might not bother most people, and certainly not anyone who uses earplugs, but I decided to return it and get a different bag. I love my fur-kiddo but not enough to listen to his snoring and the crinkle sounds!
I purchased this sleeping bag for nightly use in my bunk onboard a ship. Sadly this turned out to be one of those "you get what you pay for moments". To give it credit the sleeping bag does keep you warm at night so it's not useless. Unfortunately the materials and craftmanship are less to be desired. The bag is not very comfortable to sleep in without a shirt on. The interior fabric has a somewhat plastic feel to it. My major issue with this bag is that the interior ripped a massive hole within the first week of use. I'm being forced to use it until l get back to shore and it is of course getting worse by the day. The interior bag material is deteriorating quickly. I'm glad I didn't pay much for this bag, because it will be finding a new home in a dumpster on the pier.
I bought this sleeping bag for myself. I am 5’4 petite. I bought a Coleman sleeping bag online and didn’t like the material so I returned it right away. I saw this one in REI online and read the features. I am so glad I bought it. I like how roomy it is. I put a pillow behind my knees or between my legs to prevent back pains and I also like using a very soft throw blanket. This sleeping bag is perfect for that. I love the material, it is so smooth and comfortable. I like the anti-snag and anti draft zipper, it glides easily. I bought it for camping but I’ve been using it in our bedroom to test for 2 nights now. I guess I like it that much because I haven’t put it away. The only thing I didn’t like is that even though it came with a drawstring bag, it didn’t come with any elastics. Even though the sleeping bag is not too bulky and it’s easy to roll, I think an elastic would make it easier to put it in the bag. I still like it, so I improvised by making my own. I got the mustard color. I have to admit, it was not a love at first sight but seeing it with navy blue and bright yellow inside makes it look pretty. Yep, 5 stars! It’s worth the price.
My daughter preferred to sleep in this sleeping bag over herregular bedding (that was fully available to her at all times) for quite literally years. She’s moved on now, but as you can imagine, the sleeping bag has been washed many more times than the average sleeping bag would be. It is in absolutely perfect condition. Looks like brand new and washes beautifully. Highly recommend!
Not recommended for sub-60 degree weather. Camped in Bryce in July and was pretty cold in this bag, even sleeping with long pants, socks and, ultimately, my jacket. Each time I would move, if my skin touched the bag, the fabric was very cold, waking me up. I am a petite, 50-something, “warm sleeper” so waking up cold is just not something that ever happens. This bag just did not hold body heat. Put the rain fly on the tent and did not need to wear my jacket, but the fabric was still too slick and cold to the touch. Not my favorite bag and I would not re-purchase.
