Pockets!!!
I'm 5'7", 115lbs, 26" waist and got these in a size S. If you got an older version of these: the 2.0 >>>>> 1.0. I did receive these tights for free. Pros: This new version improves upon every issue I had with the original. I would say these are true to size. The waistband is a mid rise and does not dig in. The laser cut ankles are absolutely fabulous. The seam placement is great. They're flattering. Nothing is uncomfortable about these tights... which about as good of a compliment as I can possibly give! The infinity drawstring is a major plus. The side pockets are So Deep. They can fit my plus size phone in a case and then some No Problem. The pull through pocket in the back is fantastic for those runs where you start shedding layers. I'd say the fabric is most comparable to the lululemon fast and free. It's light, slick, and a little compressive. Great all arounder running tights! (Also great everything leggings - I'm currently wearing these with boots and a jean jacket so bonus points for being ~versatile~) Cons: I have only one minor con for these. While not visible while I'm upright, the openings to the huge side pockets do gap on me a little, especially if I'm sitting down. That being said, I'm probably on the small side of the size I chose to get. I do not know if they'd gap less if they were on the snugger side.
Very short rise and major camel toe
Wanted these tights to work because I love the orchid color and overall Janji seems like a good brand to support, but the fit was just off and I had to return. I got the XS which felt snug at first, but overall okay. The big issue was that the rise is very short and the center seam gave me major camel toe. It was like the thread was too stiff for the fabric and the rise was so short it really was just terrible. I even tried on the S to see if that would help with the camel toe, but the S ended up being way too big overall. For reference, I am 5’4 (short! The rise was still too short for me), 25” waist, 33” hips.
So comfortable!
I just bought these on clearance, and I already really like them. All the pockets are great and hold a phone securely on runs. The fabric is just the right amount of compressive, smoothing, and silky. They are slippery a bit so that at the start of my run, I have to pull them up occasionally, but once I warm up, they stay secure. The smooth lasercut leg openings are clutch! No more seams digging into my legs! My biggest complaint is that they show SO MUCH SWEAT! I bought the blue, a lovely color, but I had an embarrassing amount of sweat showing. It evaporated quickly, but I will be mindful of wearing these during high intensity activities with lots of people around. Perhaps the black hide sweat better? I might have to buy a pair...
Pockets, Breathable, beautiful!
Fit: size small fit me but I wanted a lil loose so I sized up to M. S fits if I wanted a tight fit, Fabric: on point-not too thin and not too thick of material, Pockets: generous!!, Color: pretty in pink! I am a fan of Oiselle running tights due to their pockets and breathability-introduced by REI. I also met Janji brand at REI and wow! Size reference: 125lbs, petite 5'2", build: runner but at 43 I have the lil 40y pudge. These leggings feel and look great!
Color is not the same on the picture
Color is way off, I bought the ciyanotage foliage color. The pictures in the website (kanji and REI) are more teal color looking for the background color. Instead is like a lime green 💚 . Dissatisfied with the color. Since I was going to pair it with teal shoes , vain? Maybe, but I think the colors should be corrected on pictures or at least add that detail in the description.
Love the deep pockets!
I went on a long search for good tights with pockets when I started training for a marathon and these Janji groundwork tights became a favorite! I love the deep pockets- they fit my phone, keys, a snack, etc. The fabric is very thin which I was worried about at the beginning but it seems durable and hasn’t ripped after months of wearing and washing. I tend to get chafing from seams on running tights and didn’t have any chafing problems with these groundwork tights. I got a size medium, which is my usual size for athletic wear bottoms and they fit well. I would definitely recommend!
the best running pants
I was suspicious with how lightweight they were. The fabic seems like it would be easy to rip but wow! These pants are awesome and worth the price! Wicks mositure, squat proof, tons of deep pockets, and are such a smooth material that I dont feel any drag when running like I do in other materials. Breathable so these 95° days dont feel so sufficating and my legs stay protected (not a fan of being tan or crisping in the sun). Ive worn leg compressions undernearth and didnt think it was too tight at all. Really have nothing bad to say except I wish they had more colors
The BEST Leggings I own
I bought these about a year ago and they are hands down the best leggings I own. I wear them for running (3-10 mile) and hot yoga, and for both they don’t show sweat and stay in place. I have no butt and most leggings (regardless of size) fall down over the course of my run or yoga, but not these! I’ve also recommended to a friend that’s more curvy and she also says they don’t budge! I love Janji’s shorts and i’m stoked that their leggings are just as good. I wear a 27 in pants and a small fits perfect. I originally got a M, however I have no butt and found them a little big. I’m 5’9” and they fall a little above my ankle bone
New favorites
After my favorite running tights were discontinued, I went on a long (and expensive!) search for my new favorites. I think this is the official winner. During my most recent half marathon, I felt the waistband slide down a hair, but once I was good and sweaty, they stayed in place until the very end. Also, the 7/8 length is SO good for short people like! I'm definitely buying more of these.
Great material but see through
I bought these on sale in the bright red color and love the fit, pickets, and fabric. I discovered the first time I wore them outside that they were see through, so I’ll be returning them.
