It was a great pad while it worked. Lightweight, comfortable, easy to inflate and deflate. Unfortunately it lasted 12 nights over 3 months before it developed a leak. I take great care with my gear so I'm perplexed at why this failed. The worst part is that I had three nights remaining on a remote river canoeing trip so I had to sleep on gravel with no padding! Ouch. I really liked this pad, until I didn't. (I have another Nemo pad that is awesome and I've not had a problem with it. I think something just went awry with this one.)
The NEMO Astro Lite pad is lightweight and compact. It comes with a filling bag, sack, and a strap for securing the rolled up position. I found the valve openings to be well designed. It only took about 2.5 bag fulls of air to fill when I tried it. I can’t wait to take it out on the trail this summer 2021.
comes with a sack to help you blow up the mattress which brings it over 1 lb. unfortunately that blow sack doesn't close and cannot double as a pillow or anything useful. looks like there are better options for the weight at this point that I will explore. I had a $15 pad from costco awhile back that served me well for years and was only a few more ounces...
The pump is a bag you inflate then hook up to the air pad. It says you can inflate with your breath. You then squeeze the bag with your hands into the pad. Its kind of a joke. All of this to save a few ounces. Get the model with the built in foot pump and you will be happier. I returned this air pad.
Quiet, packs down small, easy to inflate with the included bag. Had it out a few times this fall, so far so good, digging Nemo products, might try out their one person tent.
