Comfortable but defective

I purchased the Supercross in April and trail walked in them for approximately 25 miles before the weather got too hot. I recently picked up trail walking again this fall. I put in a 13 mile walk, no problem, but noticed holes wearing in my hiking socks around the Achilles area. A few weeks later I hiked again for about 3 miles before blisters formed on my right Achilles and I had to stop. Before my next trail walk I purchased new Darn Tough hiking socks and hiked 6 miles. When I returned I noticed a hole wearing in the Achilles area. Now I checked the shoe and found holes worn through both shoes on the inside that touches my Achilles. The holes were worn through the materials and the padding and directly touches the stiff heal cup. The shoes are unwearable now with less than 50 miles on them. Very unfortunate since the tread and rest of the shoe is practically brand new and should have many more miles left on them.

Good but have a weakness…

I’ve had 2 pairs of these now because 8 really like the fit and they’re comfortable. Used as a walking shoe, they keep my feet dry and have good grip. There is only one problem and that’s the heel insides. Both pairs have split leaving a hard plastic moulding coming through. This feels very sharp and on the first pair I resorted to gluing a covering piece of fabric that has led to being able to wear still. This split has occurred between 8-12 months of wear, which I don’t believe is satisfactory. I bought the second pair for holiday 6/2021 and these have just started to split 9 months later. Clearly a weak spot on a shoe that is otherwise almost perfect.

The perfect shoe for Trail to Aprés

I was looking for a shoe that I could wear when I'm on long trips away from home, know I want to get some trail runs in, but don't have enough room to pack multiple pairs of shoes. The Supercross are the perfect do-it-all solution. With many features of the Speedcross (my favorite in the Salomon trail running line) and with the aesthetics of something you can wear all day and feel confident in, these shoes check all the boxes. Insane grip, comfort on long runs, speed laces, and looks to turn heads. If you're looking for shoe that does it all, try these on!

Very comfortable

The most comfortable pair of trainers I have owned. However I had to send them back. At the end of the protective toe cap, where it creases at the toe joints both sides, the rubber protective cap has started to damage the rip-stop material, resulting in holes and material starting to fray. I have only completed one ultra in them with a couple of training runs before hand. So I would not recommend these unless you were happy to replace them every couple months.

Amazing trail experience!

Bought the shoes as an emergency purchase due to an upcoming Ragnar event after my previous shoes suffered a casualty. The reviews that stated that these shoes came almost break-in ready are what sold me on these and were spot on! 15 miles of Appalachian trail running and I couldn’t have been more pleased with how my feet felt and the performance on the trail. Rocks, mud, uphills and downhill these shoes killed it! These will be with me for next year’s race!

Great shoes for a year, but materials failed

I used these for (ideally, rainy/off season) trail runs on Mt. Si near Seattle as well as weight training -- the heel support is strong. Over time small tears formed in the upper. After about 14 months the shoes became an issue and tears have allowed rocks or water to enter the right shoe -- the left shoe has a widening tear as well. No issues with the pull tie, surprisingly. But I can't wear these anymore, which is too bad!

My first Salomon shoes that weren’t perfect!

I was looking to update my speedcross Pro trail runners with these. The toe box is larger than any Salomon shoes I have ever had which created a lot more movement with my whole foot. They lack any side to side or “roll” support which probably compounded the movement inside the shoe. They have great grip but I quit running in them and just wear them for work shoes! Pretty disappointed in this pair but maybe I should have bought a half size smaller or I had the wrong expectations for this show! Not sure on either but this is my 6th pair of Salomon shoes and the first that I haven’t just loved.

Run or Hike!

Super comfortable, light weight with great traction. I added a custom insole for better protection against rocks when running. Overall the best trail shoes I've worn. Only issue is the upper broke down pre-maturely, but REI replaced them so no harm no foul.

Stylish and comfortable, but maybe not so rugged

Decent pair of runners, but so-so while simply hiking on the trail. The heel rise took some getting use to since I've been wearing Altra zero-drops, but I appreciated the extra cushion. On steep down slopes, my foot had a tendency to slide around, even with the lacing system cinched down. The tread pattern is great, and grips really well in dirt, but might be a little slippery in wet conditions. Still getting use to them, but so far they seem better suited for shorter hikes. From what I recall, these shoes were supposed to be rated for rugged hiking, but I would think otherwise.

First Trail shoe

This is the first trail shoe I have purchased. They are everything I would expect for the low price. So far only 12 miles on them but am very happy with them. As you can see I got gaiters too!
