The Best
These bindings are tanks. They make back country or downhill skiing a breeze.
Good alpine bindings, heavy for skinning
These are heavy resort bindings for fat or midfat alpine skis. These are not backcountry bindings nor appropriate for lightweight skis, though they are fine on a short uphill climb with your heavy-fats. Just be aware that it is impossible to engage your heels when your toes are clipped into the front pins, by design. That would be dangerous as it would void the DIN rating. The tech toes are for uphill use only. I experienced no unpleasant surprises with these bindings except an embarrassing lost ski near the top of the chairlift because I forgot to latch my pins tightly before the ride up. Normally I wouldn’t be dangling tails on a chairlift… beginners mistake. Watch some videos so you know what these bindings are about before buying. Duke PT is a niche product versus mainstream AT gear, for resort skiers who want to dabble with skinning. Duke PT got me started, and now I am hooked.
