I normally wear smartwool but this last seasons patterns were soooooo UGLY that I started looking for a merino alternative and *viola!* this sweater! Super feminine - I love the hot pink detailing, fun Nordic pattern in shades of grey, and a flattering cut for this size 16 hourglass girl. I'm 5'8" and a 34DDD and this fit just right and wasn't too short (that's the problem I had with icebreaker sweaters) - it's long in the torso like smartwool which I love bc I'm not a fan of cold air hitting an inch of exposed skin when I bend or twist (call me crazy). The only reason this isn't getting 5 stars is because the side panels, while super figure flattering are veeeery thin as in you can see through them. I usually wear an undershirt with my zip merino so not a super big deal but I expected more heft and thickness. The patterned part of the sweater is more of a true mid weight. Overall a great buy and addition to my winter merino wardrobe :)

Holes within 3 very gentle wears. Pants look like they’re right behind the top. Makes me sad because I so love this company’s prints etc. I hope the company can address this so I can be a return customer.

Holes!!

I bought both the top and the bottoms shortly after Christmas. It’s not that cold where I live so I only wore the top a couple of times before the cold weather turned to hot weather, this was the beginning of 2020. Fast forward to this year and I pulled out my thermals to wear. When I put them on the top had one hole and the pants which I never wore had about 6 holes in them. They are too expensive to have holes after less than a year and the pants were never even worn!! I know there aren’t any insects eating them, because all of my other wool clothes are perfectly fine and I’ve had those clothes for quite a few years. Very disappointed in this product and I won’t be purchasing for this company again.

Fits slim! Love it!

Just received my base layer and I'm so excited! Kari Traa wool doesn't feel itchy for me and I can't wait to get this on the trail and the river! I usually size up for space in my shoulders and upper arms and I am between a medium and a large usually. This large fits me great and allows for a full range of motion! Would totally recommend.

Beautiful & Flattering

I'm 5' 4.5" tall, with a 28.5" inseam and measurements of 37"-29"-40". I purchased the medium in this top, and a medium in the matching bottoms, both in the color Marin. Quality feels good and the colors and pattern are more beautiful in person. But I'm most impressed with the fit. The medium fits perfectly in the top and bottom, and the set manages to be extremely figure flattering. The inseam and sleeves also fit well.

Trekking base layer supreme

The first thing I pack when I’m heading out for an adventure is this top. I like to be warm so this works for everything from zero to 60 especially if it’s rainy or snowy. My favorite part is that when I get to the lodge or the pub at the end of the day I can peel off the layers and look like I dressed for the occasion. Sporty?Check.Girly? Check. Fun? Check. I have another shirt from 5 years ago that this replaced. This fabric washes great, wears great, still bright and cheery for many year!

Flattering fit and pattern on this base layer

Love the colors and flattering fit on this top. I sized up to a large because the cut is snug and I wanted to have room to wear it over another base layer. Usually wool itches me but the Merino wool and soft and comfortable against my skin. I bought this to layer with a coat and another base when seeing the Northern Lights. It is stylish and looks great with jeans and my hiking pants. I wore it by itself on a cool fall day and it was perfect.

Good base layer

I absolutely love this brand. This shirt is so comfy and super flattering. One thing to note is that it will pill in areas of high friction. This ran a little long and the bottom portion that rubs the seat is starting to pill after 4 wears. It isn’t visible pilling but very obvious when I run my hand over the fabric.

Beautiful & High Quality

I love Kari Traa tops, bought a couple baselayer items including this one. I'm 5'9, 34D and generally wear 6-8. I bought this in a Large since this brand tends to run smaller and the tops will shrink slightly over time with washing (even when they are laid flat to dry). Very flattering cut & style.

Runs small in my experience

I love the pattern, colors and fabric (I ordered the navy and pink version called "Roy") but the fit is off for me. I'm 5'8" and weigh 130 pounds and the Large is too clingy and feels tight in places. I understand that it's a base layer, but since this is a Half-Zip I want to wear something else underneath. The Large doesn't give me enough room for that and it's not flattering! I've sent the Large back and ordered the XL, but I'm worried it may be something to do with the cut that just doesn't fit my body. I have a lot of Smartwool tops and 1/4 zips and the Large in Smartwool fits me perfectly. I'm hoping the XL will work for me in this Kari Traa style because I really love the colors.

Best wool base layer

Love this super soft merino wool base layer. It's my second one, and is as nice as my first. I wear it on winter hikes where it wicks well while keeping me toasty. It's the only wool brand that doesn't itch.
