High Quality Beast!

Very solid, quite heavy and big. Reaches freezing temps quickly, about 30-40 minutes for -4 degrees Fahrenheit. A little power hungry compared to competitors. It will run for >30 hours on my Yeti Goal-Zero 1500 when ambient temperatures are in mid 70s. Runs very quiet ... important for us in our truck camper! Lids can be switched to open from either side, but you need to check on-line manual for instructions; not mentioned in quick-start paper manual

Worst fridge ever!

This is now my second fridge of this model in less than 6 months and it has major issues just like the last one! I used to have the 55IM for over a year and it never had a single issue. Apparently Dometic has dropped the ball on this model or I’m just super lucky and had my first defective fridge replaced with another defective one. What are the chances?! Do not buy this junk! I will be returning my second one to REI and going back to the 55 and hope it’ll be just as good as my old one.

Great but expensive

Wanted to leave a review because when researching I could not find a lot of information on running this by battery and solar panel. I have a Goal Zero Yeti 1500X and a Goal Zero Boulder 100. I just spent 5 days in central Oregon with clear skys where the high temp was 105 and it would cool down to 75 around 6 am. I kept both sections of the cooler set at 34 degrees. We only opened the cooler in the morning to make breakfast and packing lunches and then open again in the evening to make dinner. We used a cooler with ice for beverages. Overnight the battery would drop to about 90% but the solar panel would charge it to 100% and keep it there until the sun went down. I did have the cooler out of direct sunlight in the afternoon with a shade tent. I was impressed with this product when paired with battery and solar panel. Picture was taken at 8 am and I was getting around 20 w of power.

Expensive, but functional and well designed

I bought this because it fits in the rear of a Subaru Outback lengthwise with the seats still up, and has separate compartments that can be set to different temperatures. It weighs 61 pounds but I was able to load it into the car and out on my own, when fully loaded with frozen meats in one section and perishables in the other. I put it in the hotel and plugged it into AC power, but it kept the temps to 7°F and 36°F in the car with the heat on. I can't speak to outdoors in summer. It seems like it might heat up quickly when the power is off in summer, but in winter it was fine. The mobile app is good for monitoring, but you have to pair it to your phone between uses, which can be inconvenient. Make sure it's working before you start a road trip, and it will work the whole trip through. I have only had the product since November, but I have used it indoors and in the car, and I am very happy with it. In the photo, the seats are down, but it will fit snugly with the seats up

As a truckdriver this unit works best, im out of town and good food whenever i need. This unit is consistent with temp.even when you need a freezer this product is there for.my needs. Storage is large, the company i work for doesnt let trucks idle so it works perfectly. I would highly recommend this product, i can only imagine how this product would work out in the woods, the quality is built tough, so glad so.far i made this purchase

Iced Coffee ANYTIME

So far so good.... I've had this thing for almost three weeks, running on a small PV system in my off-grid cabin. It makes a bit more noise than expected, but not as much as a conventional fridge. The main selling point for me was that this unit has two separate chambers which can be set to different temperatures. I've got the smaller of the two set as a freezer. I've never had a freezer in my cabin before so I am LOVING being able to make iced coffee now that it's 100 degrees outside and I have no AC. Ice cream, frozen pizzas... all these classic American foods are now attainable for me at home. Woohoo!

indispensable item for our road trips

We absolutely love this fridge/freezer. We take it with us for all our car camping and road trips. It can be used as Fridge/fridge or fridge/freezer or freezer/freezer. It is no larger than a big ice chest. May seem heavy but it’s not considering you do not have to pack ice in it other than what you need for your drinks. No more melted ice sogging all your food. No more digging in cold ice and water for that one small item. It even has a light in each compartment. We plug it on the 12v from the car while traveling and then plug it in a battery bank such as our Bluetti. Then for longer off grid, I simply recharge the Bluetti with solar panels. Added to the convenience, the Bluetooth app works like a charm to monitor and control your food temperature. Finally, it’s extremely well insulated and rugged.

power efficient, stays cold in HOT weather.

very nice portable fridge, with two zones. We traveled in 100F+ weather, running this off the dual batteries of my diesel truck, and as long as I either hooked up my 100W solar suitcase OR drove somewhere once a day, the truck batteries stayed well charged. It kept our frozen stuff at 0F, and our fridge stuff at 38F all day in hot weather. if you don't need 20 lbs of ice in there, then a 75 quart cooler is HUGE.

Dometic CFX3 75DZ

Great addition to the VW Westy! No longer need to take an "ice based" cooler to supplement the small Westy Dometic fridge (still working after 31 years). Very quiet running operation, blue tooth connectivity, vehicle battery drain protection andI the CFX3 being dual zone, has the bonus of a separate freezer section.

Efficient, Quiet & Great For Car Camping

Bought this a few weeks ago for car camping - not the smallest or lightest piece of kit but the volume and separate freezer capability tipped the choice. Fully laden with food and drink and it will likely require two people to lift in and out. I have a Goal Zero YETI 500X and a Nomad 100 Solar Panel - with the unit set at -10C for freezer and 4C for fridge it’s drawing ~35W on the 12V outlet which means the solar panel easily keeps the YETI fully recharged during day, even if we’re using the YETI for recharging mobile devices, laptops or powering camp lights. Runs very quiet, can hardly hear it. Very pleased with purchase.
