Perfect for saddle hunting

Nice wide gate with easy to operate lock, even with gloves. Works great with Kong Ducks for saddle hunting. All moving parts stay snug with no extra rattle/noise while moving around.

Better lock gate design - Nice EDC

Compared the previous model and this new design, this is easier for finger to operate/open gate. But caught my finger few times when operating left handed. Get pinched by spring tension turn knob and lower rivet. But like it enough...I bought four.

Best twist lock around

The RockLock has to be the best twist lock around. I was looking for a larger twist lock pear shape carabiner with a large gate opening to use on my cowtails for caving and this hit the mark. This is the largest opening I can find in a twist lock. Twist lock is super easy to open with thicker/muddy gloves on. Easier to clean/decon and durable. Larger opening makes these super easy to use at anchors, quick to clip safety lines, or to clip the ledge above your anchor knot. I also use these for making a top rope anchor as remember to screw the gate down, I’m bad with that, and it doesn’t take two hands to manipulate like a trilock. I can not recommend these more.

Light weight, smooth action, nice and large working surface.

When it comes to carabiners BD has generally lagged behind brands like Petzl in terms of the ergonomics and feel of their carabiners. With the most recent release it seems they have closed that gap. I ordered a handful of these rock locks for guiding and have been quite impressed so far. The biners are light weight for being large pears, they have a nice fat round stock to save the elbows while belaying. Perhaps most impressive though, the dual action gate has a super light and smooth action - better than any other i have tried so far. Certainly worth picking up if you need some new auto-locking pears.

Solid Design Update

I own the previous version of this carabiner and they're both honestly great. This newer version has a larger twistlock area that is more rounded on the edges. To me, this meant that the twistlocking action was easier with one hand and makes for smoother operations. The other discerning difference besides the color is that the metal is matte vs gloss of the previous version, but it makes no difference in useability. I currently run this with my Edelrid Giga Jul and the round stock works great for catching and belaying, as well as rappelling.

Larger size very convenient.

I ordered three auto-lock carabiners to try out in the gym. This one seemed a bit too big at first glance, but it turned out to be perfect for easy in and out with the belay rope. A few extra grams compared to the others, but unless you're a professionally sponsored climber the "extra weight" is truly negligible.

Nice, big auto-locking carabiner

Nice, big carabiner. Twistlock gate has smooth, easy to use action. The powder coating also has some kind of inexplicable feel of luxury to it. (I feel ridiculous even writing that sentence, but it's true!)

The locker and gate have a great feel. I love the ergonomic touch to the Twistlock. I decided to buy another after receiving the first. Really looking forward to putting this to use.

For Resistance Bands

I got this to use with my resistance bands. It works like a champ and is worth every penny. Fit and finish is fabulous, along with the wider material that won't tear up my bands.
