Super comfy!
I don't typically hike in sandals, but I do extended hikes where I carry sandals as a backup in case I have problems with my boots. So I'm always looking for sandals that I could hike in if necessary, yet don't weigh too much. These sandals fit the bill perfectly! They are extremely comfortable, with a cushion-y footbed, good strapping in the right places, and arch support that feels right. And they have a very grippy sole (Vibram) that work well in wet conditions. Yet they are not too heavy, for when I am carrying them in my backpack! And they make excellent camp/hut shoes, since I can wear them with socks in the evenings. I love them!
like a hug for your feet
These sandals are great. I have decently wide feet and love the fact that Tevas always seem to fit. Upon first try-on, they were awesome. The rubber foam that protects the feet from the straps is not too soft and not too hard. It's seriously just right. The slightly grippy texture of the footbed works to keep your feet locked into the sandal without being restrictive. The actual sole has rugged lugs which hold you onto the earth with confidence. I haven't walked up a stream in them yet, but I'm sure they would be great. My Frodo feet (sans all the hair) thank you, Teva!! Great sport sandal. Looking forward to a summer of foot comfort!
Disappointed. Quality down.
I was really excited about these. My previous pair had lasted 5 summers and could have gone longer except the soles were too worn and slippery. These were very comfortable but after just one and a half summers, the toe strap has come out of one shoe and the second is not far behind. The foam topper is clearly disintegrating in a way my previous pair didn't. The other issue I had with these is they're a little too soft and the toe edge sometimes gets caught on the ground, bending the shoe. I've almost tripped multiple times. Not what I would expect from a shoe with Vibram soles and a name like 'Trail Sandals'... I'm hoping Teva will replace them under warranty but honestly I'd rather the money or a different shoe.
A comfortable walk for many miles!
These Tevas are well made and padded in just the right places. The extra padding at the plastic connection triangle point was really appreciated. They fit well and had the flexibility to move with me over different terrains. I'm not sure I understand the point of having an accent color that is hidden between the two adjustable velcro pieces. That was a little disappointing as I generally choose Tevas in fun colors and patterns. Overall I can't complain as they are really comfortable!
Great water shoes - solid hiking sandals
Overall great sandals. I love the colorways and the straps are incredibly padded and comfortable. The footbed does have a rough rubber texture, which makes them great for water activities as they essentially stick to your feet but can be a bit more uncomfortable for all day hiking. These sandals also seem to emphasize the clutz in me as the sole of the sandal is thicker than any sandal I've ever worn, and the front of the sandal likes to get caught on things relatively frequently. Overall, great all-around sandals that have held up fine in many environments I've put them through, including trekking through the Narrows in Zion and canoe camping in the Boundary Waters!
Nice and cushy!
Well it's very much winter here in the northland of Minnesota but I did wear them around the house a bunch. They were very comfortable. My husband just pitched a fairly old version of Teva's and the straps were very stiff (caused blisters) and there was no neoprene fabric at stress points. Straps are much improved from a decade or more ago, flexible and softer. I have 2 crooked toes, one on each foot, from previous breaks, and so footwear can rub in bad places. Particularly my right foot baby toe that has a callous on it, may cause shoes to be uncomfortable but that is right where there is soft fabric vs the strap so no bad rubbing. I normally wear a 7-1/2 but figured that the length of a 7 would fit fine with the adjustability of the straps for width. Love that the sole is a bit rugged and more substantial so that it will grip on hikes and uneven surfaces. Taking them with me this week where the temps are in the 90's so hope to be giving them a full test drive! I don't mind the "plainess" of the color and am more interested in the functionality.
good for flat hikes
I usually prefer hiking sandals with a covered toe, but was interested in trying something that would breathe more. These sandals feel like walking on clouds, and were remarkably comfortable when I first put them on. I generally wear a 6.5 women's and size down when there's no half-size, and the 6 fit perfectly. The Velcro straps allow for total customization, which is also helpful. These sandals also felt more supportive than I would have guessed when I wore them on flat surfaces. However, when I walked uphill the inside ankle strap rubbed in a way that seemed like it would cause a blister on a long hike and the footbed was a little abrasive when I went down steep hills. This is the comfy, lightweight sandal that I want in my pack to put on for stream crossings and relax in once I get to camp, but probably not what I would wear on a technical hike.
Super Comfortable And Very Stylish
I am a huge fan of these shoes. Unless I'm carrying a heavy pack or going up a 14er, I prefer to hike in sandals whenever possible. These Teva's are incredibly comfortable and hold my foot in place well, and they've got great traction and cushion for trails. The padding underneath the straps makes a huge difference and is a great design feature. They're pretty easy to get on and off, which is a big plus for nights around the campground. The colors are beautiful, and unlike most shoes they're stylish without being superficially "girly" and they still look natural like a trail shoe should. They also look good enough to wear around town, so they'll be getting a lot of use from me.
Comfy right out of the box
I bought these in spring for my 42 y/o GF for our summer hiking activities. This was her first pair of sport sandals and she absolutely loves them. We bought her normal shoe size (7). She says they're extremely comfortable right out of the box. No rubbing or hot spots. I've had Tevas and really liked them but currently wear Chacos and find them heavy compared to the Tevas. She wore them on numerous occasions for hiking in the Appalachians and can't stop thanking me for them. They held up well and came in very handy for wet stream crossings. She love them and therefore she loves me. Guys, your woman will thank you.
My Go To Outdoor Shoe.
Super comfortable, I’ve worn them for hours on end of weighted hiking with no foot pain. I mostly use them as approach shoes for climbing since they have vibram rubber and the tread grips every type of dirt, gravel, rock, etc. I’ve had them about a year and after at least 100 miles of mixed terrain and water, the tread has barely worn, straps aren’t frayed, Velcro still holds, and there’s no compression AT ALL in the insole at pressure points like most sandals. They’re also pretty lifted so that’s saved me from stubbing my toes tons of times. My only problem with these is the straps are too long. I have a VERY wide foot so I usually buy men’s shoes. Yet I have to wear these with half of the Velcro (which is only at the ends and not the whole strap) sticking out. So if I’m scrambling or doing steep hiking, they come undone sometimes. But if you don’t need them to be super secure for intense terrain, you’ll have no problem at all with them. They’re absolutely amazing. Just know they run 1 size too big. I usually wear 6.5-7 but these fit perfectly at 6.
